With dinosaurs and saber tooth tigers haunting the same tropical looking forests, it doesn't get an "A" for pre-historic accuracy. But as you and your tribe battle to build a civilization in the wilderness, you'll enjoy the quirky graphics, and at the same time have a great strategic challenge. The premise is that the first year undergraduate girls have been taken hostage by "Maniacs" at the local university - someone has to save them. In step the scantily clad, curvaceous, weapon-wielding Postal Babes. It's not at all clear whether the Postal Babes have any official relationship with the post office. But you can be sure that they'll "go postal" on the radicals. This game gets an A for just being weird.

Wapfrog provides something of the tamer variety: simple blackjack. Download this one to your smartphone and test yourself for potential gambling addiction.

Some people live their lives believing they were born in the wrong time. If you feel like your real calling was to be a World War One biplane ace, try out "1916 Dogfight." You can choose which side to fight for in the war to end all wars but, apparently, you fight the famous ace at the highest level of the game regardless of which side you chose.

HeroCraft has another one with a somewhat twisted plot: M.U.M.U. Imagine this: the Large Hadron Collider blows a gasket and cooks the earth. Only a few humans survive along with numerous mutants. In this post-apocalyptic thriller, you're the lone wolf - but you're being chased by wolves, included the mutated version of your former beloved hound. You're in the middle of a river alone when the pack attacks and you attempt to bash all their heads in with an oar.

Why Personal Trainers Are Overrated
Some gyms and health clubs will make it seem like having a personal trainer is the only way to reach your fitness goals.

On the surface, hiring a personal trainer makes sense. They're supposed to be certified experts in their field. In a perfect world they provide accountability, motivation and professional insight. As we all know, the world isn't perfect.

The realty is many personal trainers aren't that good. In fact, some would say they are overrated. Here are some of the top reasons that hiring a personal trainer may not be your best option.

* Reason #1: Scheduling – Scheduling a session with a personal trainer can be more of a hassle than doing your taxes. Plus you have to deal with cancellations and you can only schedule sessions during designated time frames. You spend more time planning than working out!

* Reason #2: Professionalism – Some personal trainers are just unprofessional. They show up late. They talk with other people. They play on their phones. At some points, it might seem like they're ignoring you during your workout. You shouldn't have to put up with this kind of stuff. You're the customer!

* Reason #3: Price – Hiring a personal trainer is expensive. The good ones can cost on average of $50 to $80 per hour. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the mean hourly wage for a doctor is $88. No offense, but trainers aren't doing heart surgery.

* Reason #4: Workouts – Some personal trainers have the tendency to do the same old workouts with all of their clients. Here's the thing. Not everyone is the same. Every individual has different fitness levels and abilities. What works for one person may not work for you. Every workout plan should be tailored to the individual.

* Reason #5: Injuries – Injuries are always a possibility when hitting the gym. However, you're setting yourself up for injuries if you hire a cheap, incompetent personal trainer. Unfortunately, many people fall into this trap because they're looking for a deal. In the end, you might end up burning more money on a doctor to treat your injuries.

* Reason #6: Monitoring Progress – Here's a sign that your trainer is overrated… they're not writing anything down. A good trainer will monitor your progress. It's the only way to know how you're doing. Many bad trainers will just stare off into space when they should be tracking your performance.

So what do you do? The first option is to do some serious homework and find a certified personal trainer that comes with glowing reviews. These people can be expensive.

Another option that is gaining popularity is to join an automated fitness gym. These types of gyms eliminate the need for a personal trainer. Personalized training programs are created for you on a USB drive, which you insert into fitness equipment that coaches you through the exercises.

With automated fitness training, all of your workouts are tracked and monitored so you can view your progress.

In the end, the choice is up to you. Do the proper research and figure out what works best for you.
Unshackle from Pesky SMSes via Mobile Application Development
I carry my cell phone 24x7 and, no doubt, I make full use of technology to keep myself updated. Having said that, I received an SMS advertising for Hair Loss treatment. Oh! Here I received another one, well, this one belongs to (Buy 1 and get 1 free) Ice-cream offer. SMS after SMS and we ought to check them all assuming it's an important message from friends or relatives, love message from Spouse or, probably, a message from boss about an urgent meeting.

Aren't we aware of the increasing problem pertaining to SMS spam? What do we do about it? Do Government-provided options really curb SMS spam?
I remember people's annoyance when there used to be an email spam. It is not that we don't have them now, we do. However, we have found solutions to it. Many of them directly throw the spam mails into spam section without even letting you know. I can feel the same annoyance in the crowd even today due to SMS spam. SMS spam is a growing issue across the world. For now, recent news reveals frustration among mobile users of SA and India.

What's with South Africa?
South Africa reports increasing number of SMS spam, a reliable news channel via local research company Dashboard reported. This is for two primary reasons: local spammers are using international messaging routes to avoid WASPA (Wireless Application Service Providers' Association) regulations; and WASPA is so overwhelmed by billing complaints that true spam is not receiving the attention it should.

Who is going to curb it? The initial step taken should be from local operators who have failed to trace spam messages coming from international sources. Later, lies the responsibility of consumers who need to understand and escalate the issue collaboratively, reporting it to WASPA. To combat SMS spam, it is necessary for the broader public to report it to WASPA and insist on a formal review where appropriate. However, WASPA isn't the only body of concern; the Direct Marketing Association of South Africa (DMA) has offered their services in combating the SMS spam problem plaguing South Africa.

SMS spam in India
Located in India, I can very well relate to the situation here. While, researching on many tools available to combat SMS spam (many of them failed to eradicate the problem), I came across a new mobile phone application to keep pesky SMSes at bay, SMSAssasin. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-DELHI) can now put an end to your woes by helping you segregate spam from regular messages.

Bulk SMSes being cheap way to reach out to masses, marketing firms are using them widely to offer value added services and advertisement. According to available data, in India an estimate 100 million spam messages are sent everyday. Also, “DNA” reports that Companies dedicated for SMS-based advertising have been launched and they can reach out to about 1,00,000 people for less than Rs3,500. SMSAssasin is a tool that quickly recognizes spam and performs spam filtering automatically. It is designed to work starting from mid-range phone in order to reach out most of the people; wherein it filters spam messages and also gives the user freedom to receive spam SMSes which are useful to him or her.

Blackberry users
Well, if nothing, RIM has provided users with security related mobile application development like Kaspersky Mobile security. Users now have ability to locate a lost or stolen Smartphone via GPS. It remotely disable and/or wipes a lost or stolen device, and filters out unwanted calls and SMSes by putting contacts in black lists and white lists. Apart from this, many other apps like Lockout Mobile security, WaveSecure for Blackberry and so on have kept Blackberry in its shed, protected from spam and finding lost devices. Hope windows mobile application development also comes up with something like this.

How to curtail?
The best way to prevent a spam is to take Spam seriously and report it as soon as you encounter one. WASPs should also implement an automatic opt out system on behalf of their clients. Remember that adult content will always be acted upon, even on lodging a single complaint. Always ask WASPA if other complaints have been received, and if there have been you should insist on a formal complaint.

What Is A Prepaid Credit Card
You probably see them all the time at gas stations or advertised as a solution for people with bad credit. Prepaid credit cards act just like a regular credit card, except unlike a normal credit card there is no line of credit behind the plastic.

They are also known as Pay as you go cards. With a prepaid credit card you have a fixed amount of money you can use. Since there is no line of credit, you don't have to worry about paying back any debt.

Credit cards are practically a necessity of life these days. When was the last time that you wrote a check. I'd wager that most of us just write one or two checks a year these days and the rest is done by card. It's almost impossible to rent a car, reserve a hotel room, or make a large purchase without a credit card. Many businesses now require customers to have a credit card on file even if paying with cash or check. What can you do if you have bad credit or no credit?

As we said earlier prepaid credit cards are also known as “pay as you go” cards. They work in a similar way to traditional credit cards. The difference is that prepaid credit cards don't involve borrowing money from the issuer. You preload the card with money and then use it wherever Visa or Mastercard are accepted. Late fees and interest charges are not applicable. Simply refill the card when the balance is low or depleted.

A prepaid card is much like the gift cards available from most high street chains in the UK, however, prepaid cards have a much wider acceptance, and can be used internationally. They are the same as credit cards, but without the credit. The majority of UK prepaid card providers offer cards embossed with your own name, and some are even CHIP & PIN cards.

A prepaid card is not a credit facility, so you do not need to pass a credit check. Even if you have bad credit or CCJs you are guaranteed to be approved for a prepaid card. However, you are still required to provide details verifying your identity and address (for example a passport, driving licence or national identity card plus a utility bill or an official letter with your permanent or temporary address). Some of the prepaid card issuers will even verify your details online, and give you an instant approval. By the way this is correctly called an electronic identity check, not a credit check!

A prepaid credit card such as a Visa or prepaid Master card can be used like any other credit card to make purchases. With a prepaid card, however, you load funds onto your card and use that money to make purchases and get cash -- you are not borrowing money from a bank or other financial institution. The prepaid credit cards look, feel and work like a credit card but are pre-funded "stored-value" cards. This allows you to set spending limits for you or your kids.

So there you have your answer. It is a pre-paid, reloadable card can be used anywhere Visa or MasterCard is accepted -- at stores, gas stations, restaurants, theaters, in the mall and online. Making a hotel and rental car reservation is a snap. You can also access cash at ATM's. The card is great for everyday purchases, special occasions, and emergency backup.

How Much Do Credit Cards Cost Business?
Credit and debit cards are so convenient to use. They make shopping so much easier for consumers. Some may argue that they are just a little too easy, but studies have shown that the vast majority of purchases made will be increasingly paid for with a card. By 2017 three-quarters of all point-of-sale purchases will be made with credit and debit cards. That means that only 23 percent of sales will be made with cash. Businesses can’t afford to not accept some kind of card. They have to take cards to stay in business.
Businesses Pay Different AmountsCredit scores aren’t just for people; businesses are assigned them, as well. If a business is found to be high-risk, they may have a harder time finding a company that will help them accept cards. To be sure, the fees they pay will be adjusted accordingly. However, it is better to make sales and pay fees, than it is to completely lose sales because the business can’t accept cards. “credit card processing”
Companies will charge different amounts for their credit card services. However, the following numbers are an average. Utilizing new technologies like mobile card processing can save businesses transactions fees with both a lower percentage and a charge per transaction.
Business owners who opt to use merchant services providers should expect to pay about $10 for a monthly statement fee; $25 for a minimum monthly fee; $5 to $15 per month for a gateway monthly payment; and transaction fees of between 0.5 and 5.0 percent for each processed transaction, plus 20-30 cents for every transaction. Without even considering the monthly fees, if a customer wanted to charge a $10 purchase, the business could be out 80 cents in transaction fees alone. That’s eight percent of the sale.
How Business Can SaveBusiness can make sure to research the company they choose to use to process their card transactions. They can also protect their business credit and avoid being a risk. Finally, they can do what businesses have done from the beginning of time: pass the cost of the transaction onto the customer.
You’ve probably seen the signs in stores. It says that an additional amount will be added to all credit card transactions. Sometimes a business has a minimum purchase requirement instead. Consumers seem to understand that card processing costs more and are willing to spend the extra money for the convenience of paying with a card.
Clearly businesses won’t save by failing to accept credit and debit cards. Studies show that the costs are outweighed immensely by the benefits. Customers who are given more choices of payment, including cash and cards, are more likely to join the business’ loyalty program, make more impulse buys, and even spend more money on each purchase they make at the business.
Android Offers More Flexibility For App Developers
There is no doubt that mobile apps are changing the way businesses engage and communicate with consumers, and have created a brand new industry in mobile app development. Apple was first to market with its App Store and public API program, allowing virtually anyone to create mobile apps and make money (potentially). Android followed shortly after with its App Marketplace, and Windows Phone 7 has recently entered the space as well. And, let's not forget about Blackberry, which owned the smart phone world for years before iPhones and Androids made smart phones cool for everyone, not just executives.

So, as a business leader, where should you focus your mobile apps efforts? Let's look at the numbers.

Apple is leading the way, boasting over 350,000 apps as of May 2011 (check the title tag on the App Store page), but Android is gaining momentum. In fact, in early May, Google confirmed that the Android Market offered over 200,000 apps. Compare that to data from just a year earlier in April 2010: Apple had 185,000 apps compared to Android's 38,000. Clearly, Android is catching up.

As far as device sales, Android has already pulled ahead. Recent data from NPD Group suggest that Android is by far the most popular consumer smart phone platform, owning 53% of the U.S. consumer market share, while both Apple and Blackberry (RIM) have just 19%. Also, a recent PC World article mentioned a March 2011 survey by GetJar that indicates Android shows no signs of slowing down, with 40% of consumers responding that their next smart phone will be an Android phone, compared to just 16% who said their next phone would be an iPhone.

From a development perspective, Android is the most flexible platform. Developers can create apps using Apple, Windows, or Linux technology; Apple only gives you one option (guess which one?). The app development and submission process is also much more open for Android compared to Apple and other mobile platforms. Once you submit an app to the Android Marketplace, it is instantly available for users to download and install on Android devices. Apple, on the other hand, requires you to wait for approval, and rejects some apps based on concept, design, or functionality. This creates a certain quality standard for iPhone and iPad apps, but is frustrating for developers who can sometimes get caught in a black hole trying to get an app approved. The instant approval process for Android apps streamlines the process, and Google takes more of a laissez-faire approach in that it pulls apps that get a lot of complaints, but stays out of the way otherwise.

However, Android isn't perfect. The main disadvantage with Android is that you have so many devices to test, rather than just three for Apple (iPhone, iPad, and iPod). Inconsistencies across devices can create problems for your app's performance and reputation. On the flipside, making an app compatible with so many devices creates a larger potential user base. Android is also a bit behind Apple in the tablet space, though there are several new Android tablets coming out this year. Also, the Android platform is expanding into TVs, exercise equipment, and other electronics, so you need to stay current on all the latest devices.

So, where do you go from here? Android? iPhone? In short, the answer is both (and include a Windows Phone 7 and Blackberry app if resources allow). Android and iPhone are here to stay. While Apple got most of the attention in the early years of mobile apps, Android has proven it's a force to be reckoned with. The bottom line is, the more platforms your apps integrate with, the more brand awareness and revenue you can drive back to your business.

15 Down To Earth Ways Of Getting Your App More Popular
There are well over ten million mobile apps on the four biggest mobile app store, namely; Google Play store for Android application, Apple Istore for IOS based devices, Windows store for windows based operating devices and Amazon app store which is compatible across various operating systems. Most of the top and most popular mobile applications in the market today have and continue to spend millions of dollars in adverts, app maintenance, branding, app development, update, law suites, among other expenses. In other to carve a dominant and convenient space for your app in the over saturated mobile app market, a lot of effort has to be invested in planning, strategy, and execution of the mapped out strategy. In the same industry where other are spending continuously in advert, some employed certain techniques and have leveraged on the right factors, such that a few of these apps never spent a dollar for promotion(e.g, whatsapp). This goes a long way to affirm how relevant and important it is to know the right marketing strategies. Below are 15 of the simplest, practical and easy methods to marketing our app;
1. Develop a microsite; apps like Path and Snapchat have largely leveraged on this idea to succeed. Regardless of the other promotion strategy you intend to employ, a microsite will serve as a 'home' for your app. In most app stores, you are made to describe your app using restricted characters and keywords, without adequate room to negotiate and relate well with potential users.
2. Tease your potential audience before the launch; This strategy is especially important for app the are paid to download as it help to gather enthusiastic audience even before the mobile app is launched. A big example of an app that has leverage on this technique is 'Tinder'. This opportunity can be used to gather the contact details of interested potential users.
3. Blog; 'Buffer app' is one of many apps that uses this strategy effectively. Before, during and after launch, one good way to stay in the new is blogging about topic around your apps. It could be on recent update, useful tips for the app users, or news around your app, just ensure you try to stay in the news. Blogging doesn't necessarily mean you run a blog, it could be guest post or even ghost blogging, whatever work in your case.
4. Let people Know (social media is 'free'); Take great advantage of social media to connect with and get more users. No matter how small you feel the news, event or development is, once it's safe for public consumption, tell it on social media; you never know what's going to go viral. It's quite bad for users to check your social media handle and realize you are inactive.
5. Seeing is believing (Videos are so cool); 'Dollar Shave Club app' is one of many apps that have leveraged on the power of videos. Quality and well published videos often tell stories that user and potential user can relate with, making it more and more obvious that they need your app.
6. Reach out and ask for help; Remember that personal friend who is very famous on twitter, or that Instagram handle for your other business? Try to leverage on networks and ask for help when needed. Influencers on social media sometime love to be associated with quality and reputable products. In case you any, don't be afraid to ask for a promotional endorsement.
7. Get the Press, Good Press, a lot of it; Even though bad press isn't an entirely bad idea, good press is safe and clean enough to guarantee success. Take it or leave it, the press remain the best tool to connect with the docile and information dependent masses. Use the buzz around press attention to carve out loyal user base.
8. Leverage on app Review platforms; Appstoreapp, AppAdvice and 148apps are some of the many sites that give genuine reviews on mobile apps. In some cases, these websites reach out to apps they deem worthy, in some cases, they do the review without even getting in touch with the app publishers. However, the case may be, if you have something note-worthy, feel free to submit and pitch to them.
9. Speak to your app developer; this applies only if you have hired a professional mobile app developer to handle your project and not some regular guy who unfortunately knows how to code. Hire dedicated developer will have adequate experience on the trending methods and efficient strategies of promoting apps.
10. Get in touch with Bloggers in your niche; Identify the top and most popular bloggers in the niches related to what your app centers around.
11. Apply for Awards; winning awards or even getting nominated can attract a lot of positive press which is very good for business. Awards like 'The Mobileys' and Kiip Build Fund are some of the most popular award events you can consider.
12. Explore Podcasts (not many people are utilizing); besides radio ads and jingles, not many people use podcast. Consider having an autoplay podcast on your website and upload it to iTunes. It's important to make sure the podcast isn't all promotional, try to center it around relevant contents in your niche.
13. Keep and use contact; Regardless of the platform, find a way to have a means of collecting the personal contact of every potential user you come across with. If this strategy is taken serious over time, it will be a good leverage for promotion to have such list at hand.
14. Run an online contest; Most people online are actually busy people who actually ought to be doing something else with their time. Running any competition, contest or challenge gets people engaged and attracted. However, this strategy proves more effective for branding rather than actual conversion.
15. Take negative reviews serious; Developers, publishers and mobile app marketer love to disregard negative comments or reviews as hate, especially when it comes amidst thousands of positive results. In actual sense, negative reviews can serve as a pointer to necessary improvements and responding to them in a concerned and polite way also goes a long way to convince intending users to download the app.
They are many simple techniques to help in promoting your app, but there are a lot of factors to consider, such as your budget, business model, type of mobile app and audience. The above listed are just some general tricks, strategies and methods that have been successful. The primary aim of any app owner is to make sure every user is happy. There are a few inorganic and aggressive ways to boost the popularity of an app but they are largely unethical and therefore should be avoided. The above listed, among other hundreds are options any serious publisher should explore.
Reading Serviced Apartments For Business Travellers
A spotlight was shone on Reading last month when Laura Marling, who went to school there, won a Brit award for best female solo artist. She's not the only creative success the town has spawned: Reading and surrounding areas have been home to Kate Winslet, Charlie Brooker, Ricky Gervais and Kenneth Branagh. Further back, former residents include literary luminaries Alexander Pope and Jane Austen.

Reading has attracted illustrious residents throughout its long history because of the high standard of living it provides, as well as its location. For the same reasons, the town is one of the UK's most popular destinations for business travellers. Because it lacks a developed tourist industry, there is a dearth of hotel accommodation in the area and the serviced apartments Reading has to offer are becoming an extremely popular alternative choice.

Why is Reading so popular among business visitors? Firstly, although the contemporary architecture in the town centre makes Reading seem a thoroughly modern town, it's been an important business centre for centuries. Originally the site of an important market, it became a centre of the brewing industry in the 18th century. Now, Reading is home to offices of an incredible number of high tech companies, from Fujitsu, Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft to Virgin Media, Bang & Olufsen and Cisco. There are also a number of accounting firms with offices in the town. Because of its relatively small size, the serviced apartments Reading has to offer are within easy walking distance of all of the town's main business areas.

Reading's excellent transport links are also a key part of its popularity. From the central railway station, residents or visitors can travel to London in 30 minutes, as well as numerous other cities across the country. There's also a railway link bus service to Heathrow Airport, which takes around half an hour. The town has an extensive public transport system, and all of the serviced apartments Reading has to offer are near transport links of some kind.

The town also has excellent shopping facilities: in particular, the striking Oracle shopping centre, which crosses the River Kennet, attracts visitors from across Berkshire. There are also regular farmers' markets in the area. Because Reading serviced apartments provide guests with cooking facilities, they can make use of these extensive shopping facilities and then have plenty of space to use the goods when they get back.

Guests staying in one of the serviced apartments Reading has to offer can drive into the countryside in minutes to visit traditional pubs or local villages. Quiet spots in the town centre, meanwhile, include Forbury Gardens and Reading Abbey. Of course, the town's history as a brewing centre means there are a number of popular pubs in the area, and the Reading CAMRA Beer and Cider Festival, which takes place every April, provides a different way for business visitors to unwind.
Scott Carrell on Is Brock Lesnar a Network Marketing Expert?
Is Brock Lesnar A Network Marketing Expert?

You know, as I was watching the UFC heavyweight championship fight between Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin last night, a few questions crossed my mind? Is Brock Lesnar a network marketing expert? Is he an inspirational speaker to those working on attaining financial freedom? You may be asking yourself what the heck does an MMA fighter have to do with building your home based business? Well, I'll tell you!
For those of you who don't follow mixed martial arts, Mr. Lesnar was hospitalized with a serious illness that could have resulted in his never fighting again....and that was the best case scenario. The doctors told him that his career was over and would never get in the ring again. The long of the short of it is, that despite all of the adversity and the medical facts, he made a decision. The decision to succeed. So he got back in the gym, trained himself back into fighting shape, and got himself a fight to defend his belt.

During the first round he, well, he took a beating! The announcers described how much trouble Brock was in, and that the fight was all but over. He was getting hammered, but never quit! Then in the second round, he got himself together, and reached the goal he had set. Not just to fight, but to win!! His hand was raised as the undisputed champion of the world.

As we go through our own business challenges, we need to take a similar approach. Realize that working a direct sales business will give you your shares of ups and downs. The way you handle these will determine your level of success. Overcoming the obstacles, instead of succumbing to them, will make you stronger and more prepared to stay in the fight. Now, I know we're not going to win the world title or anything, but we win something just as fantastic. The freedom to make your own choices! Isn't that worth Fifteen prospects in a row that say no may make you want to quit. Bob and weave, move on to number sixteen. Haven't sponsored anyone this week? Get back in the game, make some contacts, and make it happen!
MMA fighters get in the gym for their training. We get into reading books, listening to CD courses, and attending events. Jump back into your MLM training! Pick up a John Maxwell leadership book. Listen to Chris Wideners "Winning With Influence". Counsel with your upline leaders, or attend your company's national convention.

The point I'm trying to make is don't let a little bump in the road get in the way of achieving your goals, and earning a residual income. Whatever it takes to overcome whatever your challenge is, do it! We can learn from the example of Brock Lesnar. I'd love to sponsor him into my business, and have him on my team. If A 265 pound monster punching him in the face didn't make him say uncle, getting a few no's won't bug him to much. How much will you take before you tap out and put an end to your dream? I know the answer....Never!

Rewards Credit Cards – Are They Really A Sweet Deal?
Rewards are everywhere! Gas stations... grocery stores... pharmacies... hotel chains... They all claim to reward you on purchases that you make. Likewise, credit card companies have their own rewards credit cards programs. Simply put, the more you spend, the more rewards you get from a rewards credit card. Sounds like a sweet deal, doesn't it?

The Fun Factor of Rewards Programs

Unless you're a savvy rewards credit card shopper that's done his or her homework, then you might end up feeling like a kid again or worse yet, a fool. Remember dropping quarter after quarter into the machine trying to get that cute little stuffed animal only to end up with a little plastic finger ring and empty pockets. If lucky, you might have gotten that irresistible toy after all, but it probably cost you way more than it was really worth. With games, I guess the idea is "fun," and if you get rewarded that's even better. But with rewards credit cards, is the "fun factor" worth your hard earned money? Read more to find out how to keep the fun in the rewards.

Avoid High APRs

Cards with rewards often have higher interest rates than the typical card. For those who like to pay off their balances each month, rewards credit cards might be right up your alley. If you don't pay off your balances, then you might find that the higher rates are not worth the rewards. You will need to do a little math to figure out the best deal.

Avoid Annual Fees

Like high APRs, a reward credit card may require you to pay annual fees as much as $40. Once you've paid the annual fee, the rewards might not be enough to justify getting the card in the first place. Consider the value of the reward versus the amount spent in annual fees and interest rates.

Cash In On Cash Back

Some rewards credit cards offer cash back rewards for your purchases. For example, you might earn 1% on all purchases. If you spend $5000, then you'll get $50 back. This type of rewards credit card bases the cash back earned on the amount of purchases you make, and there might be a maximum limit you can claim. When evaluating these offers, be sure to read the fine print.

Accumulate and Redeem Points

Most point systems are designed to give you about one point per penny spent. Say you earn 1000 points using your reward credit card. You might get a reward worth about $10, such as a store gift certificate or credit that can be accumulated and applied to a larger gift reward. If a rewards credit card offers less, has a cap on the number of points you can earn or the points can expire before you use them, then you might find a better deal elsewhere. Take time to shop around!

Fly the Skies

Frequent flier programs are similar to the point system and cash back rewards. You might get one flier mile (or point) for every $2 that you spend using your card. Most cards require you to generate around 25,000 point before you can redeem them for free airline fare. Any cards that require you to accumulate more points might not be worth it. If you are a frequent flier and can benefit from this type of program, compare reward credit cards. The best place to do this is online.

There are numerous reward programs that are available when using rewards credit cards. Individual cards may have specialized programs that are tailored to various groups, such as small business owners, students, travelers, “shopaholics”, etc. Just like the carnival games, a girl will run straight for the games with doll prizes, whereas a boy will want to play for balls or cars. The same holds true for credit cards shoppers. But beware of the gag gifts! Take your time to read the fine print and shop around for the best rewards credit cards.
Top 7 Different Ways To Make Money With Your Books
One of the most astounding discoveries I made while writing and selling books was the fact that the sales from direct book sales should not be the main or the only source of revenue for authors. This was new to me before I ventured into the book selling business. I used to think I can only make money with my books only if I can sell lots of copies of it. In fact, this misplaced thoughts actually deprived me of catching on some opportunities at the early stage of my book business.
I will be using this money making articles to show you Top 7 Different Ways To Make Money With Your Books. These are interesting ways you can use your books to rake in lots of revenue for yourself. The money from the sales of your book should actually be the least revenue source for your book.
I have practically used most of these book selling tips.
1. Direct Book Sales
This is very common. Most authors have relied on this as their main source of income. Just like I mentioned above this should not be so. However, this is still a good source of revenue for your book especially if you know how to distribute or market your books. Writing your book is the first step in your book business, publishing it is another step, distributing or selling it is another and it is a very important one.
You can't make money from your books sales if you don't have ways of putting it in the hands of people who will pay you cash in exchange for your book.
Strategies in direct book sales or book marketing are beyond the scope of this.
2. Distribute a Free Report
You can package your book and give it away as a free report or as a free book download on your website. Well you may be wondering how you can make money when you are giving out your book as a free report. There are simple and sure ways to make money using this strategy:
● You can use your free report to show your expertise and advertise your existing books or yet to be published book.
● You can use your free report to give publicity to your brand or organisation. You can visit our website to see what I am using free reports to do.
● You can include affiliate links in your report and encourage your readers to visit the links. An affiliate business is one that will give you the opportunity to sell other people's products to earn a commission on each sale. There are many website online offering affiliate opportunities to visitors to their websites. Most of them offer free subscription.
● You can use your free book download to build a customer base. Place the report on your website using an auto responder form. When visitors come to your website to pick the report, they are asked to leave their contact information and expect an auto response from you containing the link to the book. Though, they are collecting this report free of charge, they may become paying customers in the future. You can always contact them with the contact information they left with you.
3. Start a Blog
A blog is an online diary where experts put their thoughts for the people to read. Blogging is big business now. Authors are now running blogs to show their expertise to the public and to promote their books. People will readily buy from an author they have read from on many occasions and the one they know is an authority on his subject. If you have written a book, you can break the book down into several articles and place them on your blog to showcase your expertise and also to promote future books.
Blogging can be a very rewarding exercise if you can make yourself to post consistently on it and show to your readers that you are an expert on your topic. If you combine blogging with the idea in tip 2 above, then you will be having a great sales system for your books that will make you money for a long time.
4. Distribute Articles
You can also break down your book contents into articles that you will distribute on the internet free of charge. Webmasters have used article distribution to promote their websites, products, brands etc. on the internet. They have also used them to promote affiliate products.
Webmasters have visited article submission websites to pick up these distributed articles for use on their websites. If yours are picked, it presents a wonderful opportunity for you to obtain cheap exposure for whatever you have used your articles to promote.
Therefore, instead of selling your book, you can break it down into articles and distribute them free of charge on the internet to promote other products.
5. Open Doors With Your Books
I love this strategy. I believe my books should open doors of other opportunities to me. After I published my first book, Silly Mistakes in Mathematics, lots of parents contacted me for consultancy work for their children. I made more money from these consultancy works than the money I made from the sales of the book.
I have voluntarily given my books out to experts in my industry expecting a joint venture opportunity with them. One of it gave me lots of money even before I began to sell the book. Books show you as an expert (which you are if you are the author of the book). Other experts will be willing to do business with you if they have seen your expertise on the pages of your book.
6. Show Yourself As An Authority
Sometimes, you are not directly interested in making immediate cash with your book. You just want to push a book out and distribute freely to show you as a voice in your industry. So you are just going to be distributing your books in the right places to shout out your brand to the whole world.
This may not give you immediate gains of more cash but an increased recognition in your industry will eventually make you wealthy in the nearest future.
7. Website Exposure
Lots of businesses are now going online. Web designers are having a field day designing websites for business owners. Now it is one thing to have a website online, it is another thing to bring people to it. You can use a book to give great exposure to your website by distributing it as articles or as free ebooks.
You should ensure that you persuade readers of your book to visit your website. You can put other free resources like free newsletters subscriptions, free reports etc. in your book asking readers of your free ebook to visit your website to pick them up. Your website links should be conspicuously placed at strategic positions in your ebook.
This article is part of an interesting free book, 20 Ways To Make Money With Your Books which you can download free of charge at our website.

Tourism Software: Automating Transaction Processes for Traveling Agencies
The tourism industry is one of the most lucrative areas of business in the world. Traveling is one of the oldest pastimes there is. To be able to travel to a far off destination halfway around the globe and to see landmarks that you previously only saw in magazines is truly an experience. People who work in the tourism industry are well aware of this and are always looking for ways to encourage travel.
Of course, tourism is also an extremely competitive market. Various agencies are always vying for consumer attention. The way to beat competitors is through clever and strategic marketing as well as constantly offering discounts and deals that are difficult to resist.
In order to gain every bit of advantage over their competitors, some businesses are beginning to implement the use of Tour Operator Software. As businesses expand, more agencies are turning to IT solutions to more efficiently run their business. With a Tour Operator System in place, agencies can keep track of every sector of travel, such as flights, transfers, hotel accommodations and car rental.
Tour software is very similar to customer relationship management software except that it is designed exclusively for the tourism industry. With such a system in place, agencies and travel startups can automate nearly the whole process. The software also offers a turnkey solution to help users save time and maximize user output. The product comes ready-made and is prepared for use the minute it is installed. Users, however, do have the option to customize the system with additional plugins and add-ons.
With most travel software, you are also given 24/7 support. The software designers are well aware that there will be times when users may run into technical difficulties, which is why online customer support is always available for those that may run into trouble.
According to studies, most tourists book their travels completely from a single location. This means flights, hotel reservations, transfers and railway tickets are all arranged and obtained from a single site. With tourism software, the transaction process can be made simpler for both the site owner and client. The system can connect the client to a list of the top airlines, hotels, car rental agencies and so forth. This way, the site can extend the selection of travel deals and come up with more competitive prices.
Most tour software programs can also handle various tasks simultaneously. This includes managing prices, allotments, setting commissions, creating invoices and extended loyalty programs. These days, just about every major travel agency has some sort of online presence, which means that technology is crucial for a smooth operation. The right software system can simplify the process, save time and generate improved and faster results.
Many sectors of the travel industry are beginning to use tour software as part of their daily operations. This includes airlines, cruise companies, hotel chains and traveling directories. If implemented with the right add-ons and customization, any company can create the best travel arrangement experience for their clients.
Article Writing To Help Promote Websites
A great many new business owners, especially those who do not own a whole lot of article marketing background, have the swell idea that getting a great many links for their sites is a fine tactic. That's not really a hundred percent correct because building links, when done wrong, can plunge your sites. There are a wide variety of ways to build back links to your online site, and so far, the benefits of article marketing far surpass other link building methods.

Some webmasters generate links by posting their sites to thousands of online directories. With such a large number of links out in the world wide web, it's almost a sure thing for search engines to seek out your links and index your sites. But that's pretty much it. There are very few benefits that's worth mentioning.

Other webmasters like to post on forums and blogs to build links. This is a much better link building method because it allows the owner to communicate with others on the websites. Human beings will see respond to the posts, see the links, and click through to see what your business has to offer. This is a pain staking process. It takes a great deal of time to post on forums and blogs, and it takes even more time for other bloggers to remember you and your sites.

The expert Internet Marketers usually choose article marketing over all other link building methods for a few special reasons. First, article marketing allows them to get their message out there very quickly. By generating great articles, they let the readers have a preview of the products and services that they have to share. If readers want to research more on the subject, they can always click the links in the author bio boxes and visit the author live site.

Besides direct traffic and higher search engine rankings, this method is also easily scalable. There's a snowballing effect as more and more articles get submitted and approved by the article directories. If done regularly over a few months, readers will inevitably learn to trust the writers more as can see for themselves the quality of the information that's put forward by the article marketers.

It's tantamount to having your own website or blog for customer communications, except that now you have hundreds of routes. Article marketers know how to use this method to let others see themselves as gurus in their field. There's no need to mention, those who are not implementing article marketing will certainly lose in the long term because the Internet is all about traffic.

As these quality information get indexed by the search engines and syndicated to hundreds of other sites, the publishers will get a great amount of traffic. With a a lot of traffic coming to their websites, guess who is going to eat up the market in the long run? It doesn't take someone very smart to answer that question.

If you're not into article marketing yet, I highly suggest that you look into executing this method immediately. Do it for a couple of months. Write and distribute five articles each day, and if you don't see some expected results, you can always junk the plan. But chances are, you're more likely to get hooked once you see the tangible advantages.
The Advantages of Using Forex Trading Software
Forex trading software is a computer program that is downloaded to a computer to help traders predict what will happen in the Forex market based on a database or past transactions. Traders then use this information as they buy or sell currencies. The most popular type of Forex trading software is the automated software, which makes trades on behalf of traders. This means that once it is set up, a trader is able to take full advantage of the Forex market's 24 hour operation. The software allows traders to profitably engage in Forex trading without having to spend a lot of time on research, studying and following Forex market trends.
The other advantage of using Forex trading software is that it takes emotions such as fear and greed out the trading equation. Emotional trading is the most common mistake that traders make especially those who are new to the Forex market. When gut feelings and emotions come into play, many traders quit wins too early when they could have made gains. They also exit losses too late or hold into trades that are not performing well. Automated trading helps ensure that traders stick to trading strategies and this increases their chances of success.
The other benefit of using this software is that it allows traders to trade Forex on multiple positions at once. They can profitably and safely enter into multiple trades simultaneously. In addition to this, the software enables mirror trading regardless of the diversity or timeframes of the multiple markets that are involved. Another factor that leads people to fail in the Forex market is failing to be consistent. It is essential to stick to a chosen strategy in order to succeed in Forex trading. Automated trading ensures consistency and this maximizes the gains that a trader can make while significantly eliminating risks and reducing losses.
Forex trading software also improves the speed of entry and exit into and out of a trade. It instantly reacts even to small changes to a Forex trading environment and makes transformations that improve a trader's profit margin. It is possible to implement these changes across multiple positions instantly. Another benefit of using this software is that it simplifies backtesting. This is the review of historical data for the purpose of determining whether a particular trading strategy is viable. With this software, people who are new to Forex trading can determine if their expectations are being met. They can also make adjustments and changes for better performance in the future.
Furthermore, novices who choose to use Forex trading software can start trading much sooner than if they decided to trade on their own. The software analyzes the market for traders and makes trades and predictions based on this analysis. When using this software, a trader is sure that the decisions made by the software are based on facts and they are the right decisions to make at that particular moment. New traders can therefore make successful trades within a short period of time. Experienced traders who use Forex trading software can trade twenty four hours a day and this allows them to make more money.
Consumers Could Pay More if the European Commission Caps Credit Card Fees
The European Commission (EU) has threatened to cap the credit card processing charges that banks impose on businesses and shops. In turn, the banks have threatened to add higher fees and other charges onto cards used by consumers. When it all finally boils down, it's likely that UK households will take another hit in their billfolds.

As it stands now, credit cards like MasterCard and Visa charge businesses a 0.9 percent charge on all credit card purchases. This credit card fee costs businesses £850 million annually. The charge in debit cards is 0.2 percent. The EU wants to set a flat service charge fee of 0.3 percent.

On further examination, this matter gets more complex. The fees that businesses pay to banks are known as interchange fees. These fees cover the bank's costs of processing credit card transactions such as fraud insurance and administration. Shops and businesses give banks different interchange fees based on size. Big retailers generating tons of sales tend to pay a smaller interchange fee. A mom and pop store will pay a larger interchange fee. These fees can vary from 2.5 to 0.1 percent.

The European Commission (EC) estimates that this fee payment market has a value of £112 billion. The EC is laying out the argument that the credit card sector is expensive and fragmented. Retailers tend to agree with the EC opinion. The British Retail Consortium (BRC) has been hammering the EC for a decade to end what it calls excessive and anti-competitive fees for processing credit cards. The BRC argues that consumers will benefit via lower prices if the fees are capped. At present, retailers eat these fees and charge them back into the business.

"We're delighted with this landmark proposal," said Helen Dickinson, the BRC director. "Capping these excessive and anti-competitive fees will support the UK retail industry by £362 million a year, boosting the industry's ability to invest and innovate while continuing to deliver lower prices and value for customers," Dickinson added in an interview at Daily Mail.

MasterCard Europe contends that if this EC cap goes through, consumers will be hit with a £25 annual fee per credit card. Marion King, president of MasterCard, warned that lower fees will result in less income for issuing banks, and that will force banks to charge consumers for using cards.

The EC fee proposal will force credit card companies to separate their payment card schemes from the business division that processes transactions. Essentially, this would destroy the current credit card model. The Financial Times (FT) describes this matter as the final battle in the long war between EU bureaucrats and payment providers. The Commission proposal calls for a 0.2 percent cap on debit transactions. Credit card fees would be capped at 0.3 percent. The EC estimates that EU debit card fees will be cut to €2.5 billion from €4.8 billion. Credit card fees will tumble to €3.5 billion from €5.7 billion.
Fifteen Fabulous Paths to Getting Anything You Want, FREE!
Dear Savvy Web Surfer,
Have you ever wondered why some people seem to get tons of free stuff, while others don't?
When was the last time you got frustrated because you paid for something that one of your friends got for FREE (or significantly cheaper)?
Whether you are a teenager, student, employee, business owner, single parent, or retired investor, we all love the instant gratification we get when something is given to us free of charge.
Skimming through this special report may spark some new insights; but reading every word and authentically considering each suggestion is the hallmark of an intelligent freeloader for receiving everything that is offered and milking it for everything that it's worth. :)
After reading these (now twenty-three and growing) pathways, how could YOUR life change? Share this with others, and shift the focus away from a tough economy, into a new realm of conscious giving and receiving. Let’s love the world together...
1. Get clear.
It doesn’t work to just want “everything” for free. The more specific and precise we are about what we want for free, the more powerful our brain becomes by generating ideas and methods of obtaining that something for free.
Example: I like to party, so instead of just wishing for an abundance of money to spend on partying, I focus on getting free tickets to tons of cool events. More than that, now I get the VIP treatment at most places, feeling more abundant than having financial abundance.
“That man is richest whose pleasures are the cheapest.”
~ Henry David Thoreau
2. Chunk it down.
Sometimes the way to get want we want for free is through stages. It may not be free for us immediately, but working towards a path that gets us that free thing can be extremely rewarding.
Example: Lots of people wish that they didn’t have to make a rent or mortgage payment for the place where they live. Maybe it’s not possible to get that for free today, but what about the possibility of sub-letting, or hosting youth exchange students, as a great way to subsidize our costs?
“How do you eat an elephant?”
“One bite at a time.”
3. Check your community.
Our biggest resource is through the network of people that we know. Chances are there are people within our network that either already have what we want (used and willing to give it away), or know how we can get it for free.
Example: Furniture, appliances, books, audio programs, DVDs/movies, and admission to shows/events are popular examples of things that people in our community have, and would be more than happy to give away. I’ve saved tens of thousands of dollars on personal development programs through this method.
“It's all about people.
It's about networking and being nice to people and not burning any bridges.”
~ Mike Davidson
4. Google it.
It never hearts to Google what we would like for free. Don’t just try one term, but many variations, especially based on varying geography. What may be expensive in one city could be free in another part of the world.
Example: Companies may not give a physical product for free, but offer the digital copy at no cost. We could locate our favorite song/music, find our favorite book in audio format, or maybe the first couple of chapters of the book we want as a PDF, before we decide to spend money on it.
5. Uncover special promotions.
Sometimes waiting is the name of the game. Unseasonable times, off-peak hours, or excess inventory, are great opportunities to solicit our freebies. Certain promotions are based on volume, so we can recruit some friends, and get a group discount for everyone else (in addition to our freebie)!
Example: GroupOn, Living Social, and TeamBuy are all great web sites that show us great deals every day. By organizing small groups, our financial portion could be easily taken care of.
6. Explore the competition.
We may have an affinity towards a particular brand, but would settle for the same product/service from the competition -- if it were free! Sometimes the competition uses exactly this ploy to acquire new customers, and we can benefit from that!
Example: And maybe the competition isn’t really the competition. For instance, A.C.N. subcontracts essential home services from brands we know and trust, and offers us the possibility of getting our essential home services (telephone, Internet, wireless, energy, television, security, computer support) for free!
7. Find an equivalent.
We may think we want a particular product, when we’re really looking for a particular functionality. Software, applications, and services are great examples of things we may be paying for now, that we could probably find for free elsewhere.
Example: Microsoft Office costs money, but we get all the equivalent functionality from Star Office, for free! Look for open source and public domain products/services that you want for free.
8. Ask.
It can be that simple. Especially if we have a relationship with the merchant we’re asking, or have at least seen or done business with that company over a period of time, a freebie is more probably than we think.
Example: Sometimes it's as simple as calling our credit card company and asking them to lower our interest rates and what offers are available to help people in this tough economy. Other times, it’s not as simple as “Can I get that for free?” because there’s a science to making an authentic request. Read this article that outlines the three components of a request that is likely to get fulfilled: The 3 C's of Asking -- Make your requests Clear, Concise, and Compelling.
9. Negotiate.
Some people may feel negotiating doesn’t necessarily make something free... Don’t just think monetarily. We can negotiate by offering our products/services in exchange (bartering), offering a testimonial/promotion to our community, or committing to a future order.
Example: When hosting events, I always find venues that forgo all rental fees because I am able to drive a significant amount of traffic through our community into their establishment.
“Flattery is the infantry of negotiation.”
~ Lord Chandos
10. Put out feelers.
Our community is great, but social networking actually allows us to get to our communities’ communities. That is, people who we don’t know directly, but can know through a common person. This provides a conduit of trust through association where it is much easier to establish rapport and develop a nourishing relationship than with strangers/cold-calling.
Example: I know lots of friends who have posted their wish for something free on Facebook or Twitter, and got what they were looking from someone they didn’t know. Someone even got money for their cat that needed emergency medical attention.
“Social media is not a media.
The key is to listen, engage, and build relationships.”
~ David Alston
11. Search government programs.
There are lots of government grants and scholarships that we may be eligible for, as a citizen and as an entrepreneur. There are so many programs, that we should not discount any possibility or criteria that we may fall into. Investigate programs based on social/economic or minority status, as well as youth programs, those specific for woman, for the disabled, or those specific for aboriginals. Look for programs offering incentives or tax credits based on arts and culture, technology, and research and development.
Example: As a member of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, I get great parks like free transit and admission to galleries/attractions. While many people may qualify, not everyone who qualifies knows about such services. If you know someone with a disability, help them get $20,000 to $90,000 from the government. Chris Johnson runs an amazing program called Free Money University where he specifically shows you how to find and get accepted into these kinds of grants and scholarships. Tell him Danish Ahmed from Ordinary Words sent you for further discounts/offers.
12. Browse charities, service organizations, and non-profits.
Sometimes these groups can have excess stock, or be willing to give us access to their resources if our work is consistent with their mission. These groups usually have people with great hearts who love to give, so as long as we can provide value to them, they will provide value to us.
Example: Because I love to travel, I found lots of youth and community development programs that allowed me to travel in exchange for my volunteering. There are literally thousands of groups like this...
“He who wished to secure the good of others, has already secured his own.”
~ Confucius
13. Engage Churches and other local groups.
When people know you, they want to help you. Far more important than free stuff, is compassionate people willing to offer you advice, guidance, and resources to get anything you want. Today, there are lots of spiritual communities, prayer/mediation circles, new age clubs, and intentional families that offer similar value.
Example: Whenever I travel, I call networking groups in the city I’m visiting and offer to be a speaker and/or an out-of-town guest. They are usually excited to have me. What do I get out of it? Access to new people in a different market... and I have the ability to network with them in an intimate and trusted space. My Broken Palace is a non-profit organization of passionate people who want to help others in their time of brokenness. Looking for a free place to stay? Try services like Mind My House, or Couch Surfing.
14. Become a member of free services.
There are lots of new and innovative services on the Internet that offer tremendous value at no cost. Based on the product/service you want, think of organizations or services that may write reviews for that product/service, or offer free samples of the products/services you are looking for.
Example: Listia.com is an auctioning platform like e-Bay, except instead of using money, we get credits based on the free stuff we provide to others. Freecyle.org is a grassroots moment of people who are giving and getting stuff for free in their own towns. There are lots of free ad services like Kijiji and SwapSity.
15. Upgrade into That Free Thing.
That Free Thing grants us access to a web portal full of thousands of freebies -- with new freebies added every day. Instead of doing all the work above, allow a company to do all the work for us, and pool together the best free stuff into one place. Plus, there are Smart Phone applications (iPhone, Android, Blackberry) which give us instant notifications of freebies under our nose as we walk or travel!
Example: People have received everything from Dairy Queen ice cream to prescription eyeglasses worth hundreds of dollars. More interestingly, there’s a way to make money by sharing these freebies. Sign-up to get 5 freebies per week, for FREE! You could also get a copy of “The Legal Thief” by Seth Fraser, the Freebie King (given to upgraded members)! This book includes detailed strategies on how to live life free. When you become an upgraded TFT member, use this special report to build your community by changing the end of the URL to your TFT ID.
“Good artists create...
great artists steal.”
~ Leonardo DaVinci
BONUS! #16. The more we give, the more we get.
Have you heard “under-promise and over-deliver”? If we vibrate energy of giving, being conscious of our abundance and privilege of being generous with others, then others will be attracted to us and want to give to us. All of us give on some level already; the question is “is it possible to give more than what you have already been giving?”
Example: If you’ve made it down this far in this special report, then chances are you received some value. Can you re-gift it? Can you share it? Can you take thirty seconds and post it on your Facebook wall? This can be your contribution in creating a world without money.
17. Leverage your points.
We may have Air Miles or points in other loyalty programs lying dormant. Perhaps we want to travel somewhere... instead of asking our company or charity to flip the bill, ask if they have a corporate points/loyalty program affiliation. They may not want to spend the money on us, but would be more than happy to support our cause in this way. For teenagers, this is a great way to ask parents for cool stuff.
Example: Points.com allows us to trade points from one loyalty program to another. It's a great way to make rapid use of our points.
18. Expense it.
Perhaps you work for a company that can make what you want for free a part of their expenditure. Ask your manager or employer. If you're an entrepreneur, you can automatically expense it by making it relevant to business. This is one of the secrets why many people become an entrepreneur -- it's not about making money as much as it is about being able to get anything we want as an expense against profits.
Example: That Free Thing shows us how to use free items as promotional tools to grow our businesses. Therefore, even the upgrade to $9.95/mo is a legitimate deductible expense against any home-based business, and makes the product offering a no-brainer.
“Jerry: So, we're going to make the post office pay for my new stereo, now?
Kramer: It's a write-off for them.
Jerry: How is it a write-off?
Kramer: They just write it off.
Jerry: Write it off what?
Kramer: Jerry all these big companies they write off everything.
Jerry: You don't even know what a write-off is.
Kramer: Do you?
Jerry: No, I don't.
Kramer: But they do - and they are the ones writing it off.”
- Seinfeld, The Package
19. Educate yourself.
There are lots of web sites and videos on the Internet that show us how the monetary system works and how to transform it. The more we can shift the mass consciousness into understanding and transforming the monetary system, the quicker it will transform. In fact, articles like this are a testament to what Dr. Michael Beckwith (from The Secret) refers to as the "Gifting Economy".
Example: Free resources, coaches, mentors, movies and events are abundant. The American Dream is a comical and entertaining story about the world economy. The Money As Debt movie series is a great series of animated cartoons that have become super-viral and translated into many languages. Zeitgeist: Moving Forward movie is an international phenomenal responsible for an entire movement of a resource-based economy (without money). It is the largest non-profit independent film release in history.
20. Be creative.
The multitude of ideas doesn't end here. Hopefully this just gives us an indication that there are so many ways to get things for free, that our subconscious mind will now live far more abundantly and gratefully.
Example: Use this special report as a method to encourage your community of friends to gift more. Share it with them, and specifically mention how several things you did made a difference for you (referencing points in this special report, since most people won't take the time to read all of it). If they find value in it, they will appreciate you for it, and you will be building your social credit with them.
“When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this:
you haven’t.”
~ Thomas Edison
21. Embrace family.
Some say that we can always fall-back and rely on family. Even if we have mistreated them, been unkind or unfair, they will always accept us back in their arms with love. Similarly, we sometimes overlook searching our own family and extended family for the the things we want and need.
Example: Families are known for sharing food, clothing, jewelry, massages, electronics (players, computers, smart phones), and money. Sometimes what it takes is forgiving a family member, which allows the abundance to flow in.
“To err is human; to forgive, divine.”
~ Alexander Pope
22. Sex appeal.
While this one may be controversial, we can't deny that it does exist in many cultures. Where do we draw the line in terms of using our sexual energy to get products and services for free? Everybody appreciates simple smiles, compliments, acknowledgements, and appropriate affection.
Example: Authentically use authority, social economic status, association to certain individuals, or the ability to market to a large database, as a means to acquire product samples.
“Sex appeal is fifty percent what you've got
and fifty percent what people think you've got.”
~ Sophia Loren
23. Integrate and persist.
Each of these paths may not be effective entirely on their own. However, when used in combination, (whether simultaneously or periodically), it will yield much more effective results. Children know this when nagging their parents. As adults, instead of being irritating, we're being resourceful and innovative.
Example: Marketers understand that because people are overwhelmed with information, they need multiple impressions before they are even aware of a certain offering. Many times e-mails get filtered into junk folders, or text messages end up in cyber-space. It's always a good idea to use multiple mediums of communication to ensure our message was in fact heard.
“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.”
~ George Bernard Shaw

5 Steps To A Successful Online Business
1. Business Mindset
To have a successful online business you first have to develop a positive mindset. You have to understand the reasons you want your own online business and where you want to go with it. You have to know where you want to end up, what are your goals and desires. What does this picture look like to you? Once you have your goals in place and a vivid picture of where you want to end up, you then get started with your business plan. Find a company who will work with you on developing your business mindset and help you to develop a business plan.

2. Proven Business System
The most successful online business has one thing in common and that's a proven business system. You want to look for a company who has a great track record and one who can provide testimonials from people who are in the company and their results.
They need to have a good and reliable support system, one where you can get your questions answered in a timely manner. I have had experiences of waiting 48 hours for an answer, I really needed that day. Who wants to wait 48 hours? The online business should have a vision of the company and where it is going. I know of one online company where they have mapped out a 100 year plan. That's impressive.
3. Information Bank
To have a successful online business you need to have the correct information. There is so much information on the internet it will literally eat you up if you do not stay on track. It is so easy to get off course and the next thing you know 8 hours has gone by and you're realizing, what, did I get accomplished. I am blessed to work with a team of expert marketers, who set goals and keep each other on track. We work together and create a synergy of online business savvy. There are programs out there that can quickly identify your needs and get you the right information.
4. Time Management
The best way to get the most out of your day is to develop a habit of writing down what you're going to do the next day. Break it down into each hour of the day, when you will start and when you will finish. When you schedule yourself, and hold yourself accountable of your own actions, this will keep you from getting interrupted. This is why it is important to have a clear picture of your end result, also when you write your goals down for the next day it gives your sub consciousness' time to think about and prepare you for the next day as you sleep.

5. Completing The Circle
There is a balance that is evident through the laws of nature, attraction whatever you want to call it. There is ebb and flow, a ying and a yang, my point is if things get out of balance you move backwards. If you throw yourself into a business and let your family functions go, things will start to deteriorate, likewise if you don't allow time for yourself and always carrying out everybody's wishes, you will be unhappy. You need to set a balanced schedule where there is so many work hours, family hours, and personal hours to keep your life in balance.

Wading Through the Mud to Buy the Perfect Laptop
Once you have made the decision to convert an area in the den into a home office, exactly what is the next step? The next choice to make is whether to invest in a desktop, laptop, or tablet.

Desktops have been traditionally what is thought of when one imagines a computer. The usefulness of desktops is that they can have excellent components. Not only that, but the components in a desktop are generally easily accessible, so you can upgrade it in the future, instead of getting another brand new computer. You could improve the graphics card, or add a hard drive. Desktops also come with six or more USB ports, whereas laptops only have half that many. The largest CPUs and GPUs require big cooling fans, and these will only fit inside a desktop. These computers also support numerous monitors. The downside of desktops is that they are not portable. They are designed to be stationary. If you need the fastest possible computer, then a desktop is an excellent option. Good desktop brands are ASUS, Dell, and Xi3.

A laptop computer is smaller and easy to transport compared to traditional desktops. Laptop computers used to be less powerful than desktop models, yet in the present day, laptop computers can be just about as capable as desktop models, for basically all except the most power hungry programs. One of the downsides of laptops are that they have space limitations, and processors designated for them run at lower temperatures. The consequences of this are that laptops can't have big fans that are essential to use the speediest processors. You will often encounter a 500 GB hard drive in a laptop. Additionally, you get fewer USB ports. The components are compact, and upgrading components after the fact may be difficult. You may be able to change out the hard drive. What you get is portability. You can have a mobile lifestyle. Reliable laptop computer brands are Alienware and Razer.

Tablets can resemble laptops without a keyboard. With the commercialization of touch screens, tablets are universal. One of the choices you have is to get an electronic device that is both a laptop and a tablet in one machine. Alternatively, you can buy a separate detachable keyboard for quite a few tablets. One of the reasons that tablets are so popular is that they are mobile. A tablet is probably not your first thought when you imagine your home office computer. This couldn't be further from the truth because tablets are quite powerful now. As an example, you can download office applications. You can also give presentations. They are superb for a mobile lifestyle. There are three major operating systems for tablets, one of which is Android. Reliable tablet brands are Amazon and Microsoft.

Contemplate file storage. Internal hard drives come as standard equipment on laptops, desktops, and tablets. You might want an external hard drive to back up your data and store it safely at home. Select a rotational drive or flash memory. You may want to consider the cloud for longer term storage. For sharing data routinely, or for increasing the storage capacity of a tablet or laptop, you should purchase SD and micro SD cards. These work on laptops and tablets. Phones and cameras also utilize SD cards. Another common method to transport files is through USB Drives. Not every tablet has USB ports. Sony Laptops use Sony Memory Sticks. Excellent memory brands are Kingston, Atech, and Dane-elec.

Printers are vital office equipment for the home office. Think about whether you must have color printouts, and how frequently. How fast do you need the printer to output pages? Do you also want a fax machine, copier, and scanner? Do you plan to print photos regularly? For the nicest quality and most rapid throughput, choose a laser printer. For color printouts, they are expensive. If you print in color on a dedicated basis, and want to keep the costs low, find an ink jet printer. You can usually find them marketed as an all-in-one office machine, serving as a scanner, copier, and fax machine. Another category of printer you can make a choice of is a photo printer. These machines can function as well as mail order photo printing services. The downside is that the ink and the paper are expensive. Reliable printer suppliers are Epson, HP, and Ricoh.
5 Tips for Driving a Rental Car in Puerto Morelos
Puerto Morelos, Mexico is a tranquil, laid back beach town on the Yucatan Peninsula, and makes the perfect home base for a vacation in the Riviera Maya. Having a rental car in Puerto Morelos is a great decision for most people, since it gives you the freedom to jet off to Cancun or Playa del Carmen for a day whenever you feel like it, or explore the many amazing ruins and natural wonders at your own pace.

Driving a rental car in Puerto Morelos and the surrounding areas isn't much different from driving in the US – the Yucatan is one of the safest places to drive in the country and the main roads are generally well-maintained. However, there are some tips that travelers should follow when driving a rental car in Puerto Morelos in order to have the best vacation possible.

Tips for rental cars in Puerto Morelos

1. Get CDW/LDW coverage from your credit card company
Collision Damage Waiver/Loss Damage Waiver is a pseudo-insurance policy that covers damage to the rental car itself (which is not covered in the mandatory Liability Insurance). Most major credit cards offer a certain amount of CDW/LDW coverage for free as long as you use it to make the reservation and pay for it. To get it from your credit card, you must decline that coverage from the rental car agency in Puerto Morelos. Car rental companies will offer this protection for an extra fee, but it usually includes a deductible of 10-20% of the vehicle's replacement cost.

2. Keep a copy of your rental car insurance in the glove box
Always, always, always have a copy of your Mexican Liability Insurance, CDW coverage and your car and health insurance policies from back home, just in case. The most important is the Liability Insurance – if you're in an accident and can't prove that you have enough insurance to cover the damages, you could find yourself waiting in a Mexican jail while the police figure out who was at fault and how much coverage you have.

3. Gas stations in Mexico are state-owned
There is only one chain of gas stations in Mexico, Pemex, and the prices are the same everywhere in the country. Be aware that most gas stations will only accept cash, and there may be very few gas stations on some long stretches of highway. For example, the toll road to Chichen Itza has few exits and few gas stations, so plan accordingly.

4. Watch out for potholes on smaller roads
The major and secondary highways in Riviera Maya and the roads in the city of Puerto Morelos are in pretty good shape. But be careful with rural highways, side roads, and pulling off onto shoulders – you might get an unpleasant surprise from a pothole. Potholes are actually the main reason people in Puerto Morelos don't recommend driving at night.

5. Map your route ahead of time
The Mexican government has an app called Mappir that not only helps you plan a route from Point A to Point B, it will also estimate how much fuel it will take and what the costs of the route are (fuel, tolls, etc.). For example, it Mappir suggests 2 possible routes from Puerto Morelos to Chichen Itza: one has tolls, with a total cost of 697 pesos but only takes 3 hr 45 min; the second has no tolls with a total cost of 424 pesos but takes 4 hr 25 min.
7 Nightmares of Accepting Credit Cards Through Unreliable Merchant Processor and How to Avoid Them
The choosing a reliable merchant account provider is very important for the business to accept credit card payments online. The possibilities in case of any wrong decision are devastating, the 'nightmares' for the retailers or the sellers are faced when they happen to select an unreliable credit card processor for processing their credit card payments. Accepting credit card payments online involves a lot of risk.
Some of the nightmares that the merchant could face when he selects an unreliable credit card processor are:
1. Unreliable credit card processor may easily froze your account and say that your funds ‘must wait a bit’ to be paid out. Such delays can take much longer than you would expect – sometimes even months.
2. The credit card processing companies do charge a certain stipulated fees and a miscellaneous fees, but an unreliable company would come up with some additional hidden fees. Make sure to always find out about the processing fees: flat rate fee + discount fee, refund and chargeback fees, fund transfer and declined order fees. Any excessive fines or penalties (for i.e. for excessive number of chargebacks) should be stated on the card processing agreement. So always make sure you get all the details about these fees before signing a contract. A realiable company will show you all the fees upfront.
3. The unreliable credit processing company may also defer the payment and makes the payment delayed in the process. This would definitely strike the efficiency of the business which is the worst nightmare for a business owner.
4. The unreliable credit card processing companies usually are ‘short-term projects’ that do not stay active for a few months – until caught and closed. Make sure you always search for an information about a certain company online before signing a contract with them.
5. In case of any buyer filing a chargeback, due to fraudulent transactions, the seller is liable to pay back the amount of money claimed. Make sure there are no outrageous chargeback fees imposed by the processor – usually a normal chargeback fee is around 20-30 USD. While there are companies who charge more than 100 USD for a single chargeback. Stay away from such companies.
6. The alliance with unreliable credit card companies would not only affect the business but also harms the reputation of the business, and is reflected in the business reviews.
7. A startup venture may also end up with its operations, if they happen to choose an unreliable merchant processor in their maiden project.
Thus the above points reveal how a business can be affected or damage may be caused due to choosing of unreliable merchant processor there are many good and reputable credit card processors online.
3 Secrets to Leverage Job Boards and Increase Interviews
Many people have found themselves pecking away on the internet trying to find a job lately in this economy, and searching for jobs online has grown and improved drastically. This process can be very time consuming without direction and frustrating without guidance. Posting jobs online is highly effective for employers and potential employees. It is relatively inexpensive for companies and rewarding for job seekers. Unfortunately, very few businesses out there these days allow prospects to apply in person. Just like in NBC's Premier Season of 'The Voice,' your looks, either good or bad, are irrelevant without the proper credentials in today's job market. With all the diverse and niche job boards out there, it can be easy to take a wrong turn, especially if you are fairly new to the process. Whether you are in the market for a new job, unemployed, recently laid off, or just like to plan ahead, leveraging job boards will increase your chances of landing a job. Here are 3 secrets to follow.
Look Beyond the Fog
In 1952, May Florence attempted to swim the 26 miles between Catalina Island and the California coastline. As she began, she was flanked by small boats that watched for sharks and were prepared to help her if she got hurt or grew tired. After about 15 hours a thick fog set in. Florence began to doubt her ability, and she told her mother, who was in one of the boats, that she didn't think she could make it. She swam for another hour before asking to be pulled out, unable to see the coastline due to the fog. As she sat in the boat, she found out she had stopped swimming just one mile away from her destination.
Setting a goal and focusing on it is essential to be successful at anything. There will always be sharks in the water, competition, fog, and other various distractions trying to knock you off track. One simple old school way to get past this is to simply write your goals down. A successful manager, owner, and mentor once told me that if I don't write down my goals, I will just be helping someone else achieve his or hers. Same holds true for trying to land a job online. When I say goals, I don't mean you have to isolate yourself to one job. Write your goal down. I love whiteboards and being able to reflect visually on what it is I am doing. For example, you could have a main goal with the company you are targeting and position. Then, below it, you could write an objective to prepare and submit your resume to a group of job boards and list them. After completing, a milestone could be noted as complete. Ben Franklin is famous for many things, but the most when considering goals, consider how successful Ben Franklin was and how he made decisions. He would weigh out the pros and cons on paper and then make an intelligent decision.
Create a Personal Billboard

To compete in today's online job application market, you need a professionally written resume. To prolong your way to the top you cannot use yesterday's methods. Writing is a very specialized skill, and you may have it. However, if you find yourself among many others, writing a resume professionally may not be second nature. Either way, your resume will act as an advertisement to a recruiter that you are a perfect solution to the company's needs. The only catch is that the average recruiter spends less than 30 seconds reading the resume initially. You want to stand out in a way that matches the company's needs to your qualifications and personality quickly. Many resume writing services and resume writers are job search experts who will skillfully market you to a company with all the appropriate keywords.

Get Moving

Now that you are clearly focused and armed with an appropriate billboard to market you, it is time to start blasting away and applying to as many jobs within your scope on as many job boards as possible. This is where I recommend doing things a little differently. There are numerous blogs, posts, and articles out there now that try and say one job board is better than the other. Well, what I found in my research is that many corporations prefer certain job boards over the other. In fact a recent post at US News was released stating that it pays to "go niche" when applying for jobs online. Basically, the article explained how certain jobs could be located on numerous different job boards. What this means for the job seeker is the more job boards a job seeker is proactive on, the greater the chance for the job seeker to land an interview. After all, finding a job these days is a numbers game. Not every job will be on one certain job board, and not every recruiter goes fishing in the same pond. The first thing to do is submit your resume to as many job boards as possible. If you live in the United States or are seeking work in the United States, try CareerUSA. Below are two additional job boards to try next: Snag a Job and Monster, After submitting your resume to these job boards, reflect back to your plan and start applying on each job board separately. CareerUSA does make the application process very fast which allows you to apply to more jobs per hour.

In closing remember that action follows thought. You have to think success if you want to be successful. Your thoughts activate your emotions and your emotions determine your experience. You will find creative ways to expand on the job searching process, but don't let the fog keep you from achieving your goals. In Sean Park's and Mac Anderson's book entitled ‘212 the Extra Degree,' they portray the analogy of water boiling at 212 degrees, hence the small difference between 211 and 212 degrees, and how boiling water leads to steam which is powerful enough to power a locomotive. "It's your life" they say. Always remember that a little extra effort can yield substantially larger returns when trying to find a job in this economy. Make best use of your time. Apply to as many jobs as possible and keep diversifying and submitting your resume to multiple job boards.
5 Definitions of Article Marketing
People interested in making a living from the internet have probably heard of article marketing. Simply put, articles marketing is a technique where a person writes up specific information about a product, service or individual and then publishes it on specific sites referred to as article submission sites. Some of the main uses for article marketing include:
1. Search engine optimization
This is where one tries to get more visitors to a website and higher search engine rankings by getting links from high traffic websites. For instance, an owner of a pet food website will write up related articles and submit them to sites like Ezine articles with a back link to the home site. People interested in getting more information will visit the linked website. Over time, the site will start getting high quality visitors and therefore conversions.
2. Business branding
Article marketing is one of the most effective ways for a business to publicize its brand. All the business owners need to do is write up a lot of useful information geared towards creation of curiosity about business activities, products, opportunities etc. in readers’ minds. Depending on the quality of the articles and writing style, readers will forward them to their networks. This therefore causes the business brand and activities to be etched in the minds of many people. Over time, a company will be able to build a very good reputation by controlling the outflow of information to potential and current clients.
3. Affiliate marketing
Articles on marketing are one of the easiest tools to use in affiliate marketing. An online marketer will write up articles geared towards enticing a reader to perform a predestined action e.g. submit an email address, making a purchase etc. The marketer will either get a percentage of the sale or the entire amount depending on who the owner of the product is. The greatest advantage of using articles marketing for affiliate marketing endeavors is that a person does not need to have a high traffic site in order to generate leads. All he has to is balance quality and a sales pitch in order to get quality leads.
4. Educational purposes
The internet is one of the best places to get useful and updated information on virtually any topic. You can therefore use articles marketing to provide people with information, either for free or for a small sum. This is one of the ways authors use to market their books to the general public i.e. by writing short blurbs about the contents of a given book with the intention of increasing sales and readership. Educational articles on marketing tend to have very high conversion rates because they are directed towards specific niches e.g. nanotechnology, java programming etc.
5. Self promotion
Articles marketing can be used by people that want to make themselves known to the general public. For instance, a motivational speaker can have articles written on him and submitted to high traffic sites with the intention of getting more speaking engagements. This is usually more effective than using other media outlets like magazines.
In a nutshell, article marketing is one of the more effective ways of getting started in online marketing because very little technological expertise is required.

***I Love Airports! An Excerpt from Practical Enlightenment
People were surprised when Kat stood up at one of our seminars and without preamble, enthusiastically announced, “I love airports!” It was a Monday evening in early spring and we had encouraged people to come up to the front of the room and talk about what was happening in their lives. Kat is a petite, dynamic woman in her late twenties, with shoulder length auburn hair. Standing on the balls of her feet and leaning toward the group, she grinned as she said, “Recently I flew back from the West Coast and I had a layover in Chicago where they’d had a sudden snow storm. When my flight arrived, they announced that my connecting flight was cancelled and they directed us to a white courtesy phone. I picked up the receiver and was connected to a perfectly nice woman who helped me re-book my flight. Then I went to a restaurant where I had a perfectly nice meal. And I got to walk around and people-watch and visit the airport shops. I was amazed that I had no complaints. I have transformation to thank for that. I used to be so upset and any little unexpected change would make me mad. At least that was how I thought of it at the time.”
“What do you mean?” Ariel asked.
“Well,” Kat said, “I used to actually think that someone or something could make me mad.”
“Ahh, yes.” Shya said. “Most people blame outside circumstances when their anger or annoyance is triggered. We’ve been programmed by the cultures we have been raised in to believe that our upsets are caused by events or other people rather than realizing that our upsets are vestiges of our own un-experienced emotions. So when you blame the circumstances as though they are the cause of your emotions you are not being honest that the emotions are generated from within yourself and so they don’t complete themselves. They are not truly experienced. Their cause is placed outside you, as if you have no control over them and, in fact, initially you don’t. Initially your emotional experience is a stimulus/response, re-stimulation mechanism. As we said before, this is part of the cultural heritage, or agreed-upon belief that the culture holds as a truth.”
“And anything you resist, or don’t fully experience, persists, and grows stronger, eventually dominating your life.” Ariel continued. “This is why many people have anger and annoyance on tap. They mistakenly think that someone or something caused their upset. But what they don’t realize is that they are pre-charged and any disturbance can set off an explosion. It’s similar to a gun. It is reasonable to expect that if you pull the trigger on a loaded gun the gun will fire. But if there is no gunpowder in the cartridge then no matter how many times you pull the trigger there won’t be any resulting ‘bang.’ The better you get at saying Yes to what is happening, the less likely you are to have flare-ups when life doesn’t go the way you want.”
“In general people rarely allow themselves to feel what they are feeling” Shya said. “They are habituated to blaming their emotions on something outside themselves so those feelings can never complete. What it takes is to feel what you are feeling, not resist it, and not blame it on something outside yourself. The act of allowing those body sensations and thoughts to run without associating them or attaching them to anything else will allow them to complete themselves – i.e. be experienced out.
“Life is unfolding perfectly in each moment so you haven’t done it wrong, even if you have blamed circumstances for your emotions. But when you do, these emotions keep coming back to be completed. What it takes is compassion for yourself and others. It also takes letting go of blame/being right that someone else is responsible for your experience. You need to let go of your story that your parents are to blame, that your life is to blame, even that you are to blame. It is simply about being with your experience and feeling what you are feeling without judging yourself.”
“Exactly!” Kat said with a grin. “Now it takes a lot before I lose my center. And you know what’s cool?” she asked the room at large. “I didn’t have to tell myself not to be annoyed – I just wasn’t.
“I’ve heard the two of you say over the years that ‘nothing matters and everything matters’ – that nothing is worth losing your state over and it’s possible to go about your life as if everything you do and every moment is important, not just the moments I would prefer. I realize that for me, it’s no longer just an idea. I actually go about my life this way. Of course I lose it from time to time and I get annoyed but it’s become so much easier to see my annoyance and not judge myself for it.”
“That’s brilliant Kat,” Shya said. “Most people spend a lot of time in transit – in airports, morning commutes, in line at the bank or supermarket, and they think that in those moments their lives are on pause while they’re traveling to their intended destination or until they step up to the window to do their business. While waiting to get where they are going, people complain and even socialize via complaints. The miracle of air travel, the wonder of a car, are both deemed ordinary. But when you’re here and say Yes to what is happening in this moment of your life, then even ‘ordinary’ moments, mundane tasks and events are extraordinary.”
Kat grinned again. “I love my life!” she declared and without further ado, she returned to her seat.
Clearly Kat has learned a valuable skill set – the ability to say Yes to situations over which she apparently has no control. She has discovered how to treat the circumstances as if they were her preference and as though they are her idea to begin with which gives her ultimate control. All it takes is wholeheartedly engaging with life as it unfolds.
Here's How Conversion Rate Optimisation Services Deliver Far Higher ROI than SEO
When you break it down, conversion rate optimisation services (CRO) simply optimise the various components on your website to generate higher sales and online profits. Now this is far different than SEO, PPC, Content Marketing or even social media marketing because CRO does not increase online sales by boosting traffic to your site.

Instead, CRO experts typically reduce marketing costs by eliminating non-converting keywords while optimising other on-site factors to boost sales which delivers a far greater return on investment than SEO and competing options. Specifically, conversion rate optimisation services tend to break projects down into 4 distinct phases:

Phase I: Website Review and Traffic Analysis

In this phase, conversion rate optimisation services will use heat mapping and other website traffic analysis tools to identify where visitors are getting confused or leaving your site before converting. This information will then be used to create an Optimisation Plan to fix the largest conversion problems first to help reduce implementation costs and maximise ROI.

Phase II: Optimise On-Site Factors

During the initial website review, the CRO service isolated all of the problems in your copywriting, website design, and website programming that are alienating visitors and preventing conversions. In this phase, CRO experts will fix all of the conversion problems in your various website components.

Phase III: Testing and Verification of CRO Results

To verify results and calculate overall ROI, conversion rate optimisation services will use split testing and carefully monitor Key Performance Metrics. The testing sample size required to verify results will depend upon the primary conversion goal (direct sale vs. qualified lead) and extent of revisions completed during optimisation. Ecommerce sites, for example, will have a large number of landing pages that will need to be monitored and each will require enough traffic to the page to verify results. Therefore, testing times can vary significantly when confirming CRO results.

Phase IV: Traffic Optimisation

With very few exceptions, conversion rate optimisation services will first optimise a site for conversions before moving on to optimising traffic sources. Logically and from an ROI perspective, this is the best course of action because you don't want to invest good money in new traffic and send it to a site that isn't converting. So once the on-site factors are optimised and tested, conversion rate optimisation experts will move to optimise your traffic sources. CRO experts will begin with your paid traffic sources and eliminate all non-converting keywords to reduce marketing costs and then move on to SEO, SMM, and other primary traffic channels.

For the typical website, it can take up to 2 months or longer for conversion rate optimisation services to complete the entire process. Larger, more complex websites can take even longer to optimise. But when complete, the results of CRO more than justify the time and expense. And since CRO experts both reduce marketing costs and make long-term changes to your website copywriting, programming and design that boost conversions long after the optimisation is complete, the ROI for conversion rate optimisation services tends to be more than double what you can generate from SEO, SMM, PPC, or competing options.
7 Steps to Securing Java
Java, the popular OS-independent platform and programming language, runs on just about every kind of electronic device imaginable, including computers, cell phones, printers, TVs, DVDs, home security systems, automated teller machines, navigation systems, games and medical devices.

In response to successful Java-based exploits against companies like Twitter, Facebook, Apple and Microsoft, and continued concern over “zero-day” security flaws that could allow an attacker to remotely execute malicious code that could compromise vulnerable systems., the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) has issued multiple security advisories concerning Java.

In the advisories issued to date, DHS recommends disabling Java in web browsers. In response, Oracle, which took over Java when it bought Sun, has released a number of patches, some out-of-band (earlier than scheduled), and in a recent patch made changes to how Java applets are handled within web browsers.

In general, warnings potential security threats are nothing new and most network security managers consider them to be part of the daily IT landscape. The usual solution is to patch systems with vendor-supplied updates and follow vendor recommendations for best practices. However in this case, the advice to disable or uninstall the product, issued not by the vendor, but instead by governmental authorities and other third parties, creates an unusual set of challenges for organizations.

So, here are seven steps you can take to protect your network against Java-based exploits. Given its ubiquity, completely removing Java is probably out of the question for most organizations. But here's a seven-step action plan that won't necessarily guarantee security, but will help mitigate threats by creating awareness, hardening systems and reducing attack vectors.

1. Perform an impact analysis

A good starting point is to identify where and how Java is used both inside and outside the organization. Does your organization provide Java-dependent applications that are accessed by vendors, clients and/or the general public? Unless you have already taken steps to limit the use of Java, you most likely will find it present in most Internet browsers, as part of the OS (especially certain versions of Mac OS) and in any number of popular applications. The latter is probably going to be the biggest unknown as a vast number of commercial and open source software applications are built on the Java platform. Start by ferreting out which applications use Java. Is the app business-critical? Knowing the full scope of your organization's dependence upon Java-based apps and platforms is a necessary prerequisite to controlling risks.

2. Keep Java updated and patched at all times

It is of paramount importance to keep all computers and devices up to date with the latest version of Java. Oracle supports only the latest version – no security patches are available for previous versions. Obtain updates directly from Oracle to reduce the risk of code injection. Another important step is to uninstall older versions of Java manually, as simply installing the latest version does not necessarily ensure that older versions are removed. Consider limiting the use of Java-based apps to virtual machines that can be started up when needed and left unpowered when not.

Also keep in mind that some applications may use earlier versions of Java, and these could break after updating to the latest version. If your app relies on an outdated version of Java, this poses a much greater security risk and any outdated apps should be be updated or replaced.

3. Manage Java Control Panel settings

There are numerous settings available from the Java Control Panel (available on both Windows and Mac clients). These provide fairly granular control of how Java is configured on client computers from automating updates to managing security settings. Automatic updates can be configured to notify or download the latest update, but regrettably there is no current enterprise-wide capability to automatically install updates. This means manual steps are needed to ensure the latest updates are applied.

As for security settings, the last few updates of Java version 7 have been automatically set to use the ‘high' security setting, which is designed to prompt users before running unsigned or self-signed applets. This is a change from recent versions of Java where the default was ‘medium'. From the Java Control Panel, you can also disable Java when you're not using it, but there are some reports of unsigned and self-signed applets being allowed without prompting when you re-enable Java.

4. Harden web browsers

Wherever possible, disable Java in web browsers. If for some reason this is not an option, at least consider disabling remote access to Java applets. One solution is to use a proxy server that restricts remote Java requests, but allows them locally.

Another approach recommended by some IT administrators is to use two different browsers, one that has Java enabled for use when you absolutely need to access sites requiring Java and one for all other browsing. Enforcing this is in the enterprise might be challenging, but you could set up proxy rules that only allow one type of browser to access Java sites, while blocking others.

5. BYOD endpoint control

In this age of BYOD, grappling with the many personal devices employees use to connect to the corporate network presents its own set of challenges. Java is widely used in mobile applications so you may want to develop corporate policies to govern how BYOD access is provided. Several of the newer ‘smart devices' running Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Blackberry 10 operating systems do not embed Java. However, the Nokia 40 series and the Bada operating system developed by Samsung, an OS that is becoming more popular, are both Java-based. Also, it should be noted that since Java ME (Micro Edition) is restricted to JRE 1.3, it is somewhat unclear if any of the latest vulnerabilities are present in Java ME. However, by implementing endpoint control policies you can ensure that access to the enterprise network is restricted to only certain types of devices with the latest updates applied.

As mentioned in the introduction, Java is also used in a variety of other devices such as printers, security systems, payment terminals, etc. Try to identify all devices used in your organization that rely on Java and work closely with vendors to manage risks. Depending on the size of your organization, this may require a task force.

6. Review Java impacts on corporate websites and customer portals

Corporate websites are important marketing tools and frequently also a considerable source of revenue through e-commerce. If your website uses Java applets it might be time to make some changes as you don't want to be caught with critical website functionality inoperable due to visitors having disabled Java. Also, when dealing with public end users you may encounter instances where users have not only disabled Java applets, but Javascript as well. To ensure high availability, use detection scripts to deal with this contingency and redirect customers as needed.

7. If you are developing in Java, do so responsibly

If you are developing in Java, don't add to the industry-wide problems by producing unsigned or self-signed apps. Sign all apps using a trusted certificate authority and adhere to other industry best practices for Java development. In an effort to encourage developers to use trusted certificate authorities, Oracle's Java 7 Update 21 raises more red flags to users about the security risk of running unsigned applets.

Some third-party solutions such as the Entrust Authority Security Toolkit for the Java Platform allow Java developers to add security-related features like encryption and digital signatures to their applications.

Conclusion

Of late, Oracle has significantly stepped up its efforts to correct flaws and vulnerabilities in its Java platforms. However this is playing out as a game of cat and mouse, as new exploits are discovered sometimes within hours of the latest patch. The rapid change cycle is also causing other collateral consequences. Some users report being able to run unsigned applets in IE9 on Windows 7 even if the settings are ‘high' or ‘super high'. Others are reporting issues with legacy applications not running properly under the latest releases of Java 7. Suffice it to say that many Java platforms and applications are in a state of flux, with security concerns remaining. Hence the need to keep a watchful eye. Oracle declined comment on the topics in this article.
“credit card processing”
Android GPS Tracker – Locate Your Kids With The Help of Android Tracking App
In today's world, keeping a track of your kids has become necessary, notably when you want to spot them in case of any emergencies. Locating where the kids move or where they are in case of emergency can be made very easier using Android GPS tracking apps.

When you use Android GPS tracking app, you can locate the exact place of the kids and you need not call their cell phones to locate them. With this app you can keep track of their way and even pinpoint their location.
Why Choose Android GPS tracking apps?

As many of us know, Android is Google's operating system used for mobile phones. It is an open source OS and because of its open-source nature, today there are ample of applications available for it. An Android phone can be simply set up to do a lot of important stuff with the right apps.

Android mobiles work extremely well as a GPS trackers, provided the right app is installed. The Android GPS tracking apps actually depend on the in-built GPS functionality of a mobile phone. And this helps in locating the place of the user. You get direct access to a website, when you buy and install an Android GPS tracking app. The tracking information is regularly updated and this is a useful tool for locating the place of the kids or the user's of the mobile phone.

A few years ago GPS trackers were things of science fiction. But, today they are available for everybody; with economical apps and Android phones, anyone can keep track of their phone in real time. These apps are able to provide the accurate information about your mobile phones. If you are concerned about where your phone or its user is, then these apps are meant for you.
Types and Cost

There are many types of Android GPS tracking apps and the cost varies depending upon the apps you choose. Some apps can be hidden and the kids or the user of the phone will not know that they are being tracked. But, the entry-level apps are cheap and they are visible (unhidden) to the user and these GPS trackers cost less. There are several ranges of Android GPS tracking apps found in the Google play store and buying these apps solely depends on the user's own needs and budget. The apps with improved features cost higher. But, it is worth the expense, as you can locate where your kids or loved ones is in the case of an emergency with the help of these apps.
Cop Goes Out Of His Way To Help Man Traveling To Work On Broken Bike
A kind-hearted cop in Florida went above and beyond the call of duty when he spotted a man riding a broken bicycle down the street.

After seeing 61-year-old handyman Alfonso Stacey cycling to work on a totally bare rear rim on Monday, Jacksonville Sheriff’s officer Terrance Hightower visited a local bike store and coughed up his own cash to buy him new tires.

Stacey told First Coast News that he ”grew up in a time where you do for yourself” and was initially “quite embarrassed” by Hightower’s act of kindness.

The sheriff’s office said it was “so proud” of Hightower’s actions. “You are making a difference one day at a time,” the department’s post read.
Is That App Really Worth Seven Bucks?
You can download a free app anytime you want, give it a whirl, and—if it’s not up to snuff—delete it from your phone. But a paid app? Even a 99-cent price tag will give pause. What if that new mobile game isn’t actually worth your hard-earned buck? And what’s up with that best-selling productivity app that costs $6.99? Big outlay for something you might not need or use.

Seth Stevenson

So, from time to time, this column will examine the five best-selling paid apps in the Android and iOS stores. Are they worth your cash? And, more ruminatively: What does their popularity suggest about the way we app now?

These were the top paid apps in each store as of the evening of Monday, Feb. 24. Right off the bat, I sense a clear personality divide here between the charts for Android and iOS. Android users seem keen to tinker with their devices—paying to alter the environment and the capabilities of their phones. Apple users, on the other hand, demonstrate a far more hedonistic bent. They want games and creativity. Of course, one thing unites both factions: Everybody loves Minecraft.

Card Wars – Adventure Time. $3.99.

Adventure Time is a Cartoon Network show featuring a boy, a dog, and a post-apocalyptic universe called the Land of Ooo. Before playing this game a strategy card game with the same DNA as Magic the Gathering, I had not watched any Adventure Time. But I was intrigued by the whimsy of the app, so I looked up the episode on which it’s based—a fable about learning to deal with your friend’s competitive nature, featuring a fictitious game that nearly brings the boy and dog to blows. The app brings that once fictitious game into reality. I found the show delightful, and the game is, too, if you’re a fan of strategy card games. Idiosyncratic characters—the “wandering bald man” who haunts a “useless swamp” was my favorite—add to the atmosphere. You may not have heard of Adventure Time, but it draws something on the order of 2 million to 3 million viewers each week, and is No. 1 in its timeslot for boys under 14. A tie-in was inevitable, but I’m pleased to report this app was crafted with love.

Minecraft – Pocket Edition. $6.99.

The wildly popular building game has a mobile version. I confess I’m not a Minecraft player. As I understand it, the idea is to construct complex physical worlds out of various materials, while managing your limited resources. I don’t possess the patience for that. If you want to construct complex emotional worlds, we can talk. I tossed up a few concrete blocks, walked around and admired them, and then called it a day. The interface is clear, with easy switching between materials—should I drop an oak plank there? Or a spruce plank?—and a touch of a finger will shift your viewpoint or move you through the environment. To me, the small screen of a phone seems ill-suited to a sprawling game like this, where the point is to create an expansive universe. But no doubt true Minecraft enthusiasts want to play even on the go.

This addictive puzzle game—sort of a cross between Tetris and SuDoKu—has already eaten up many hours of my life. To be honest, I’m tempted to stop writing now, pick up my phone, and play Threes! again this instant. The game went up on the app store on Feb. 6 and was the No. 1 paid app by Feb. 7, according to creator Asher Vollmer, before it dropped to No. 3 as of last week. Vollmer told me he wrote the game in one night and then spent months perfecting it—mostly simplifying, stripping out extraneous stuff like monsters and power-ups that he’d originally thought would be necessary. What remains is a minimalist puzzle challenge that features a jaunty musical score and some smile-inducing sound effects. It’s the best kind of mobile game: a moment to learn, a lifetime to master. When I spoke to Vollmer, he had quit his job and was one day removed from hiring an accountant and a lawyer. The success of Threes! has changed his life. I wonder if he’ll become the next “app billionaire.”

This photo-editing app is well worth your buck. I was shocked at all the tools it provides, and what a breeze they are to use. You can adjust exposure, color temperature, and all manner of other parameters, with sliding bars that let you easily nudge the effect up or down. The app is a longtime favorite of Slate photo editor Juliana Jiménez, who uses it to edit photos she posts to . Above, three versions of an identical photo, which I recently snapped from a rooftop in Taipei. First, the original. Then my very quick, amateur edit. And then Juliana’s edit, which she spent about five minutes on. Juliana says she sometimes prefers Afterlight to Photoshop, as editing photos on her phone makes the process more tactile and less like work.

You may know this as the “Ellen game,” often played on the Ellen DeGeneres show. Or you may recognize it from the scene in the basement pub in Inglourious Basterds, or more recently from the BBC’s Sherlock. One player holds a card or in this case, an iPhone up to her forehead, while the other players try to help her guess what’s written on the card. It’s a tried and true parlor game, and here the technology is an aid: You can whip out your phone and play anywhere, on a whim. I tested it out at a recent gathering and the app was a hit—though one player shamefully confused Jerry O’Connell with Chris O’Donnell, and another of my philistine friends somehow failed to guess “Tracey Ullman” even after I began singing the chorus of “They Don’t Know.”

See above. Apple fanboys and Android dweebs can find common ground in their Minecraft glee.

This might be the best four bucks you can spend on an app. Swiftkey transforms your Android phone’s keyboard, improving it in just about every way imaginable. It uncannily predicts the next word you’ll want to type. You can remap the layouts to make them fit your own purposes personally, I feel more at ease when I have the tilde on hand at ALL TIMES. And the “flow” function lets you swipe your finger gracefully around the keyboard to spell a word—remarkably, Swiftkey seems to understand what you intend almost every time.

Titanium Backup Pro Key. $6.58.

This is the upgraded version of an app that backs up … apparently, everything on your phone, including your other apps, your phone and SMS records, and so forth. It promises “0-click batch restore.” I watched a video review of Titanium Backup and I will admit I got a bit lost amid the references to “bootloaders” and “clean wipes.” The app lives in the background of your phone no icon on your home screen and, based on its popularity and reviews, appears to be a useful backup tool for power Android users. I guess I’m glad I have this running on my phone now, but I’m not confident I’ll figure out how to use it should the need for a 0-click batch restore suddenly arise.

Nova Launcher Prime. $4.00.

This app lets you alter the look and feel of your phone’s home screen. Make the icons smaller, flip the orientation, change the scroll speed, add some margins, go to town. I tweaked my phone’s environment until it was barely recognizable, but then didn’t love any of my changes and just reverted back to the default. I used to mess with this sort of stuff back when I had a jailbroken iPhone. It’s a fun means of self-expression—not unlike aftermarket customization of your economy car—for those who get dissatisfied with their smartphone’s standard-issue aesthetics.

Poweramp Full Version Unlocker. $3.99.

Another upgrade to a phone upgrade. This app serves as an alternate music player if you don’t like the one your phone came equipped with. Feed in your tracks and you’ll get more nuanced audio equalization controls, putatively smoother playlist construction, and the like. Reviewers in the app store thrilled to the deep bass lows they could achieve, the ability optimize sound quality to fit either their headphones or their car speakers, and the way the app eliminates gaps between songs when playing multiple cuts. Not everyone will want this level of customization, but its popularity—and the differences in the two app lists—suggests that Android users are particularly intent on squeezing the very most out of their phones.
How to Hike Your Credit Card Limit
TheStreet How to Hike Your Credit Card Limit
It's not easy getting a credit limit upgrade on that Visa or Capital One credit card - but that doesn't mean you should take a pass on requesting one.

Capital One Financial Corp

The good news on credit card limit hike requests is that card providers are granting more of them primarily due to the fact that the Great Recession continues to fade in the rear-view mirror.

According to data from CreditCardsm, 17% of card consumers requesting a credit limit upgrade were rejected in 2015 - that's down from 33% in 2014.

With credit card providers more likely to green-light a boost in your credit card limit, the trick is to be efficient in your request if you're going to restore - and even increase - your current credit card limits.

Here are a few ideas to get the job done:

What's your leverage?

Provided by Thestreetm

When trying to negotiate your way back to a high limit or simply ask for an outright limit increase, you need to figure out where you have leverage, says Kristin McGrath, editor of CreditCardForumm. "No bank is going to raise your limit just to be nice, McGrath says. "If you've been a model customer, your best bet is to call customer service and have a chat about why they don't want to lose your business," she says. When push comes to shove, credit card firms will likely play ball rather than lose your business, especially if you've been a timely payer.

Get creative with your cards

Provided by Thestreetm

If you are a multi-card customer with your card bank provider and the bank cuts the limit on your favorite travel rewards card, ask your bank to move just a portion of your credit limit from a no-rewards card you never use to the travel card you want to use. "Explain that you'd like to use the travel card for plane tickets for an upcoming trip, but your lowered limit is going to make that difficult," advises McGrath. "The bank, which makes money on interchange fees whenever you use your card, will also want you to use that card for plane tickets. Everyone wins if they hike your limit."

Provided by Thestreetm

Be patient - but proactive - if bad credit is the issue

If worsening credit health and late payments are an issue, you might not have much leverage, McGrath notes. "In that scenario, you need clean up your act, and wait for your score to go up and then request a limit upgrade," she says. "Explain that your credit has improved and you'd like to use your card for a large purchase but don't want to get close to maxing out, as that would drop your score again. Ask the bank if it's willing to help you do that with a higher limit."

Provided by Thestreetm

Capitalize on promotional periods and protect your credit

When credit card providers hold promotional events, that means they want your business. Use that as leverage and ask for a credit card limit hike, says Evan Tarver, financial and investments analyst at FitSmallBusinessm. "When you ask for a limit upgrade, that causes a hard pull on your credit report and can cause your credit score to drop between one-and-five points," explains Tarver. "But, if you call during a promotional period, such as when Southwest Airlines offers 50,000 points as a sign-up bonus, you can actually ask for a credit limit increase without a hard pull on your credit. This means that your credit score is unaffected, regardless of the outcome. And, since it's not a hard inquiry, credit card companies don't get your full credit report, and are more likely to increase your credit limit. "

TheStreet How to Hike Your Credit Card Limit

Asking for too much of an increase is a red flag

Being greedy when requesting what credit limit raise you would like may cause you to be declined, notes Natasha Rachel Smith, personal finance expert at ToCashBackm. "A good increase to aim for is between 10 and 25%," Smith explains. "For example, if you currently have a $1,000 limit, it's reasonable to consider an increase of around $250. Always keep in mind that the more you request, the more you'll seem desperate for money; and that can hurt your chances for approval."

Provided by Thestreetm

Be patient and wait for an increase to occur naturally

If you're already an excellent customer, which means you pay your credit card balance off in full each month and on time, then you're already on the right path to be given a credit limit increase, says Smith. "By remaining in good standing, credit issuers will naturally review your accounts and you will receive limit increases periodically," she states. "This could be anything from one hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars. So, remain patient and organized; you'll soon see your credit card limit jump."

If you're turned down for a card limit upgrade, ask why. Your card provider will likely tell you why, and if it's a correctible issue, like an error on your credit account or fraudulent activity that wasn't your doing, let your provider know and reapply - chances are that will be enough to make the upgrade and get the limit boost you deserve as a good credit card consumer.

AlternateControls 2 Lets You Add Android-Like On-Screen Soft Navigation Buttons To iOS 10
AlternateControls 2 lets you add Android-like on-screen navigation buttons to any iPhone or iPad running iOS 10. Here are the details.

For those of you who are iOS users, and who love some of the navigation paradigms and certain aspects of the Android platform, then this new AlternateControls 2 tweak could be the tweak that you’ve been looking for. It not only introduces an Android-style soft navigation bar, but it also has customization options to make that new control type extremely useful.

One of the great things about this package is that it comes with a fairly decent level of control over what it actually looks like. It isn’t just a case of having a bar of controls that the developer has designed, placed onto the display with the chance of messing with the rest of the design and styling of the OS.

There’s a certain amount of pre-defined visuals for this bar and the icons, and then there’s also the ability for users to add their own 40-by-40 pixel icons into a specific folder on the device to theme it how they wish.

Users also able to control the height of the control bar as well as define the gesture which actually brings the bar and controls into play. As a default, this is set from a swipe up on the display, but using Activator it could be pretty much whatever that person wanted. There is also the additional option of choosing what the buttons actually do as a call to action when interacted with by the user. In fact, there is quite an extensive selection in the control panel that ships with the package, which only adds to the power and appeal.

Apple has done a wonderful job of pushing iOS forward with new features and improvements, but it’s likely that this tweak will be seen by many as a decent way to add to that functionality. It is a quick, easy, and lightweight installation which should hopefully go without a hiccup and instantly give iOS device owners a different way to interact with and navigate through their own device.

AlternateControls 2 is available from the Big Boss repository. Those interested in the package, and who have an iOS 10-powered device, can grab the package for $1.49.

Dinner in the Sky is the Ultimate Dining Experience
Apple's iOS 11 adds macOS-like features for better productivity
Apple continues to make the iPhone and iPad better, more productive tools for work, mainly by implementing features that bring iDevices a step or two closer to their desktop counterparts. That ongoing effort continues with iOS 11, which arrived as a public beta on Monday.

In the 10 years since the first iPhone arrived, the evolution of what is now called iOS shows that Apple's goal was to keep its mobile operating system separate and distinct from Mac OS X (now called macOS). But with iOS 11, unveiled earlier this month at WWDC and due out in final form this fall, a few features found on the Mac have made their way to the iPhone and iPad.

There are dozens of changes in iOS 11, and this year the iPad stands to benefit more than the iPhone. Given that Apple's tablet sales have been declining for several years -- though still selling at better than ten million units per quarter -- it's good that Apple focused on the iPad. The hardware is fresh -- the 12.9-in. iPad Pro has just been updated and there's a new 10.5-in. model -- and with iOS 11, the software adds even more desktop flair.

iOS 11 dockApple
The new Dock in iOS 11 can hold up to 15 apps.

First, Apple added a more-Mac like Dock, capable of holding many more apps than before (up to 15 on the 12.9-in. iPad); a new app-switching interface clearly reminiscent of the Mac's Mission Control, with integrated access to common system functions; new multitasking features that add to the split-screen view and Slide Over (for working with more than one app at a time); and an impressive system-wide drag-and-drop feature that showcases the iPad's impressive multi-touch support. All these features combine to make using the iPad easier, and should bolster productivity.

Better yet, Apple has made dramatic changes to the way the iPhone and iPad handle file management. After many years of organizing data and documents on a per-app basis, iOS 11 introduces Files. This new app allows users to search and organize documents on iOS devices in a single place. To use Mac parlance, Files is pretty much a mini, mobile version of the desktop Finder.

Files app in iOS 11Apple
The new Files app in iOS 11 makes finding documents easier since it collects them from multiple sources in one place.

Just like the Finder, Files can stash documents in folders (or in folders within folders), and these documents can be displayed by icon or list view, sorted by metadata like size, tags or date modified. Files can be organized using drag and drop, and, even better, supports third-party cloud services like iCloud Drive and DropBox. For businesses with deep Microsoft integration, Files' third-party support is also set to include Microsoft's OneDrive and Sharepoint services.

For users who dislike the way Apple allowed access to files only on an individual app basis, iOS 11 will be a welcome upgrade.

Although the changes to drag-and-drop are also available on the iPhone, they absolutely transform how users interact with the iPad. Trying to organize your iPad's home screen? Grab a bunch of apps and move them all at once, saving much time and tedium. Writing an email and need access to Photos? You can bring both apps up, drag over as many pictures as you want, and they'll be added as email attachments. And if you're working on a Word file and need to cite sources, it's easy to grab the URL from Safari and drag the link to your document.

Split View with Slide OverApple
Split-screen view with Slide Over now allows three apps to be open in iOS 11 at once.

Combined with the enhanced Split screen and Slide Over views -- as well as the Dock's ability to display recent documents with a tap and hold -- system-wide drag-and-drop is both extremely welcome and extremely useful.

Dock and documents in iOS 11Apple
By pressing and holding briefly on an app's icon in the Dock, you can easily find recent documents.

iOS 11 isn't just about bringing Mac-inspired features to the iPad; there are also features in iOS 11 that would make a Mac blush with envy. Apple Pencil users, in particular, will love the update. First, there's added support for the Pencil in many apps, including being able to tap within apps like Notes at any point to begin sketching or taking handwritten notes. And in apps like Photos and Mail, you can use the Pencil to mark up photos and attachments, respectively.

These additions are especially noteworthy given the hardware changes in the newest iPads. They now have a screen refresh rate of 120Hz, twice as fast as previous models. Apple calls the technology ProMotion, but you won't care what it's called; all you'll care about is that text remains legible during scrolls, animations are smoother, and if you're using an Apple Pencil, drawing on the display is virtually lag-free.

Need another productivity enhancement? With a new feature called Document scanner, it's possible to take a picture of a document -- like an order form or contract -- fill out the document using Markup and the Pencil, and then send that document to its destination, all from the iPad. Documents scanned this way are automatically corrected for skewed perspectives. And if you need to locate the doc later? iOS 11 uses machine learning to index your handwritten notes so you can search for and retrieve them later. This machine learning also translates your scribbles so they can be copied and pasted as text you can manipulate.

All of these changes, while making the iPad easier to use for everyone, will be most welcome in the enterprise, where Apple has been making strides in recent years.

For a piece of technology to break into and create an impact in the workplace, it needs to be great at two things to gain traction: embrace existing tech already in place and offer a productivity advantage compared to what's already in use.

On both counts, iOS 11 looks like it's set to deliver.
Renewable energy no longer a niche to institutional investors
By Dave Gregorio | NEW YORK
NEW YORK Institutional investors remain eager to put money to work on renewable energy projects even as U.S. President Donald Trump has vowed to revive their chief competitor: coal, financial executives said at a conference this week.

"Five or six years ago, funds weren't specifically targeting renewable investment; today it's a key component of infrastructure investment," said David Giordano, managing director and head of North American, Latin American and Asia Pacific investments at BlackRock, on the sidelines of the Renewable Energy Finance Forum in New York.

Giordano, who is also a board member of the American Council on Renewable Energy, which put on the forum, said renewable energy was no longer considered a niche.

BlackRock's renewable infrastructure investment platform, launched in 2012 by Giordano's team, now manages more than $4 billion in client assets, mostly in wind and solar projects.

Strong interest in green energy comes as Trump is championing fossil fuels and targeting environmental regulations as job killers. Trump’s administration, however, has made no moves to target federal tax incentives for renewable energy projects, which have helped make the technologies more competitive with traditional fuels like coal and natural gas, thanks mainly to bipartisan support in Congress.

Even without federal government involvement, executives noted that U.S. cities, states and corporations appear committed to renewable energy, as do most other countries. This should help projects attract capital in an era of low interest rates.

"We have seen considerable interest from a wide range of investor classes, including infrastructure funds, insurance companies, pension funds, money managers and corporations," said Raymond Wood, managing director and global head of power and renewables at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAC.N).

Major U.S. corporations such as Wal-Mart Stores Inc (WMT.N) and General Motors Co (GM.N) have become some of America’s biggest buyers of renewable energy in recent years, according to industry figures reviewed by Reuters.

Wood noted that wind and solar developers together have added about 40 gigawatts to the U.S. grid over the past two years, bringing total installed wind and solar capacity to about 120 gigawatts.

After 15 to 20 years of growth, "it's telling that the system has added a third of its total capacity in the past two years," he said. "Practically speaking, renewables deployment has hit escape velocity. Experts see enormous additional installations between 2017-2020."

Wood said the bank's sustainability investment goal was $50 billion in 2013, but the target has grown to $125 billion by 2025.

He pointed to a deal in February in which Canada's investment fund manager Alberta Investment Corp teamed with U.S. power utility company AES Corp (AES.N) to buy FTP Power Llc, which builds utility-scale solar projects, for $853 million in cash.

While Bank of America was not involved in that deal, Wood said it illustrated growing institutional investor interest in the sector. Nick Knapp, managing director at CohnReznick Capital, said that deal also showed that utilities have a growing appetite for renewables.

Knapp said wind and solar project developers have many more financing options now than traditional utility power purchase agreements. Corporations are making agreements directly, and banks and other financers have developed hedges and other more nuanced financing options to attract investors.

Knapp said CohnReznick Capital has closed more than 90 M&A and project finance renewable energy transactions in the last few years, with an aggregate asset value of about $12 billion.

U.S. corporate demand for energy has "changed the dynamics of the industry," he said.

Corporate interest "forces utilities to increase their exposure," Knapp said. "We've passed that inflection point."

Useful Tips And Tricks For Your iPhone
Everyone wants a fancy new iPhone nowadays but most people have no idea of how this new technology works. The great thing about this phone is all the apps that are available and the article below will get you up to speed on what is an app, and how they can better serve you.

You can upload plenty of music to your iPhone and jam out with tunes all day long. Avoid taking both your music player and phone to the gym, and just take your iPhone. You can upload hours of music onto your phone, and cycle different songs out with ease which can make it easy for you to enjoy your favorite tunes.

Rotate your iPhone horizontally before activating the keyboard. Doing this will increase the size of the keyboard, making it easier to type. This is especially helpful if you have trouble seeing the small screen or have very large fingers. This can save you time and frustration with misspelled words or errors in auto-correct.

You can use the iPhone to travel from one spot to the next. Use the map as GPS when you want definite directions, or when trying to find gas stations or grocery stores en route. You can bookmark the phone's map function to access it easily anytime.

When you have an incoming call on your iPhone, you can silence your ring with a single button. By pressing the Sleep/Wake button one time, the ring will go to silent mode. If you wish to send the caller straight to your voice mail, you can press that button two times.

Did you know that you can save images easily when online searching on the iPhone? It is simply a matter of pressing down on the desired picture for a moment. You will see a pop-up box that offers you the choice to save that image.

Did you know that unlike many cell phones, you can assign a ringtone for each feature on your phone? Well, it is the truth! All you have to do is go to the settings, tap on the sounds feature and assign the tone. For contacts, tap on a contact and assign a ringtone to this specific entry!

If you accidentally drop your iPhone into some water, do not turn it on right away or you can permanently damage it. Dry the phone with a towel and sit it in a bowl of rice overnight. This will help draw out all of the water that may have gotten into hidden areas.

If your iPhone has frozen and pushing down on the Sleep/Wake button is not working, there is another option. Just press and hold down both the Home button and Sleep/Wake button at once. Then, you will see a message telling you to "Slide to power off". Go ahead and do just that. When you restart the phone, it should work just fine!

There are many myths about how you are supposed to handle an iPhone falling into the water. The largest one is using a hairdryer to dry the phone. Instead of drying out all the water that has gotten on the phone, doing this will only serve to push water further into the phone.

If you are sick of the ringtones provided to you with your phone and want new ones, you do not need to spend money buying new ones. Instead, make your own ringtones! There is an app called "Ringtone App" and it is free. You can take clips of songs you like and turn them into a ringtone!!

Did you know that your iPhone can take a screenshot, anytime you like? When you're on the screen you want to save, hold down the home button and then tap on the sleep button. If you see that your screen has turned white, you have successfully taken a screenshot.

If you are a big fan of emoticons, the iPhone's "Emoji Keyboard" is for you. It allows you to use a number of different emotions, some even containing teardrops and hearts. To use the Emoji Keyboard, go to your setting, click on general, then keyboard and finally, the "Emoji Keyboard" option.

You can create an app out of any website that you visit quite often if you want to be able to access it much easier. All you have to do is open the page in the Safari browser, press the Go To button and select the option "Add to Home Screen."

If you happen to get your iPhone wet, the first thing to do is to power your phone down. Do not try to make calls to see if it works. Do not try to turn it on if it is off. This may cause an electrical short, which may make the problem worse.

Getting the weather forecast on your iPhone is simpler than most think. Bring up the weather app and you will see the weekly weather forecast for your area. If you are interested in seeing an hour by hour forecast, all you have to do is click on the current day.

Sometimes your iPhone gets flummoxed by the position you're holding it in and switches back and forth from portrait to landscape over and over. You don't have to shift position to counteract this problem. You can easily lock your iPhone into the portrait-only mode. Just open the Home menu and swipe the recent app list from left to right. This gets you to the music controls, but the last icon in the list is the screen orientation lock.

Your iPhone is an amazingly useful and valuable piece of property. That's what makes it such a great idea to enable Find My iPhone when you set up iCloud. Your iPhone's internal GPS makes it easy to pinpoint its location in the event of loss or theft. You can even lock your phone or make it play sounds remotely.

Now that you read the information from above, you should be aware of what an app does and how it can make using your iPhone much simpler. Take what you learned here, and use it to get yourself some useful apps that will make using your iPhone much easier. Now all you need to do is start downloading those apps!
